I like using corner clamps, then drilling a hole straight through both pieces at a 45" angle for a dowel, just glue it then just cut the dowel ends off, and sand smooth. I generally do this when I am using a lot of soft woods as even when I predrill holes, screws will split the wood near the ends if I look at if funny, haven’t had an issue with dowels though.

Which is the strongest from 1 to 8? Don’t have a table saw, or a workshop for that matter.

    I’m in the wrong place.

  22. J丹🄱🅁丹_モ丹丂ㄚG0`` on January 4, 2022 at 8:54 pm

    Dovetail joint is the better

  23. Patrick Archuleta on January 4, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Biscuits are only for alignment they don’t have any strength. You are better off with a t&g.

  24. Matti Virta on January 4, 2022 at 8:55 pm

i use my new cabin project hal lap and whit spliner style joint.

  27. The Nocturnal Animal on January 4, 2022 at 8:57 pm

What machine is used for the biscuit join ?

  28. H Briceno on January 4, 2022 at 8:57 pm

nice video, to be the cherry on the cake would be a strength test, or prefrerred load direction, or a word of strength and weaknesses of each

  29. celestine uche on January 4, 2022 at 8:57 pm

How do I get most of this machines

  30. Coon Dung on January 4, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Do screws have stronger holding power than nails ?.

  31. Curtis Weller on January 4, 2022 at 9:03 pm

Yep, I really liked the mitered spline approach. It probably would have been good to either explain the utilized jigs or provide links to other videos where you make them. Nevertheless, excellent video that could have used a few extra minutes of detail for those who could benefit.

  32. john farmer on January 4, 2022 at 9:04 pm

I like the one with glue

  33. cheranth010864 on January 4, 2022 at 9:04 pm

Best video I’ve seen on jointing. Helped me a lot. Thank you.

  34. Andreas on January 4, 2022 at 9:05 pm

1:58 Sorry bro, you attached it the wrong way. That’s a weak joint as the screws are angled outwards. Pocket holes should have been on the outside from what I’ve learnt.

  35. Stefan Kruger on January 4, 2022 at 9:07 pm

My hobby is making stuff essentially out of popsicle sticks and hot melt glue. Very often i have to make tiny miniature butt joints but without much success. Working with popsicle sticks or joining them at 90° is very difficult and frustrating because the contact surface is hardly 3mm. As versatile as hot melt glue is, it doesnt work for these kinda butt joints. Does anyone have advice?

  36. Dawson mills on January 4, 2022 at 9:10 pm

    Do you like WEEN

  37. trong phap Than on January 4, 2022 at 9:10 pm

  38. outbackgeek on January 4, 2022 at 9:11 pm

  39. Hani Al-Azrai on January 4, 2022 at 9:13 pm

  40. Anuja Awasarmol on January 4, 2022 at 9:17 pm

  45. C S on January 4, 2022 at 9:23 pm

You would be such a good toy maker ……….
at the North Pole. I know YouTube and selling your own products pays better but, I feel like once you’ve gotten to work with Santa you’ve really “made it”

  46. Cee Dub on January 4, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Nice video of several types of joining. Which do you think would be the strongest? Just curious…

  47. Danielle Petrone on January 4, 2022 at 9:25 pm

What joint is strong enough to make a small decorative shelf with? (Kind of like a wall sconce) where I can set a candle/plant/vase on?

  48. Fokane Rantsieng on January 4, 2022 at 9:27 pm

Thanks for sharing and I like your video. So which method is cost effective? I do a lot of bud joints with screws but locking at cost effective method.
    Thanks 🙏🏾

  49. Jt Whissel on January 4, 2022 at 9:30 pm

That was endgrain to facegrain. End to end would be like expanding a board not making a 90 degree

  50. Matti Virta on January 4, 2022 at 9:31 pm

i think spliner has this styles best join. have many other style join too but you not has made this video. japanese furniture has best joins, you must learn and do.
