stupid question: obviously a scoring knife is great, but why not just use a utility knife/box cutter? apologies if that’s the dumbest question ever

  2. Mike C on June 1, 2023 at 12:15 pm

Just found your channel and subscribed! That magnetic bit holder looks awesome!

  3. bobbg on June 1, 2023 at 12:18 pm

  5. Turk Turkleton on June 1, 2023 at 12:21 pm

Great content! Looking forward to seeing your channel grow and learning from you. One request if I may: if you start doing tool reviews (as many woodworkers on here do), please be clear with your viewers on whether you paid for the product yourself or got it for free from the company. So many content creators aren’t upfront about this, and it matters.

  6. Myst Productions on June 1, 2023 at 12:21 pm

Can I just point out the irony of #1? Cheap tools useful tools being the premise, an expensive (relative to the cost of pencil) marking knife that you use only on expensive woods/materials lol

I read a reader tip recommending that you ask your dentist for old picks. Dentists like most members of the tool community save picks that are broken on one end or have reached the end of their useful life. My dentist gave me a box full of old picks. A little bit of filing and the picks were rejuvenated for shop work. Total cost $0.00. If your dentist doesn’t have a stash, ask them to save old picks for you.

One other item, in the collection, were some crazy-shaped ones.

Your channel is growing REAL fast. I found you just a few days ago and you had just over 200 subs. Currently you have almost 900. Congrats! Well deserved. You have a great looking shop, good quality videos, and look super comfortable in front of the camera. Well done…well done indeed 😁

1000% agree with the spring nail sets. I have several and a set of spring pin punches as well (great for door hinge pins).

  29. O Exalted One on June 1, 2023 at 12:56 pm

This is the best "Tool Time" video I’ve seen (and there’s a bunch of them out there). Thanks for the tips young man.

  30. R Star Guitar on June 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm

I’ve seen many videos that claim various things regarding tools under a certain amount and how useful they are sometimes they’re useful sometimes not . This video was extremely useful ! for someone who is always in the shop looking for better solutions this was great . I ended up buying several of the tools suggested . Thank You!

  31. Kevin de Silva on June 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm

Nice video but its all just to clean for my liking

  32. bobbg on June 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm

On you right angle 1/4" drive keep oil in the gears, if you don’t they wear out or break. I used whats called a skew driver
In car audio for years before the home centers had anything like it. I must have bought 10 sets of them over the years.
Everyone always asked me where did you get that?? They get hot the gears need oil
And it needs it often they dry out pretty fast if you use it a lot. They kinda need a grease zert.

  33. MagiusUSA on June 1, 2023 at 1:02 pm

Pretty good list. I have a scoring knife (BigHorn), nail set (awesome), right angle (Same), picks (HF), and nut checker (board, not cable). I vouch for all of them. Very useful tools.
I’ve never seen sanding twigs before, and I like the tweezers set. I’ll pick up both.

I watch A LOT of YouTube woodworking channels and I can honestly say, the quality and content of your videos is on par with any of them, which is shocking considering you just launched. Your channel is going to grow like wildfire. Great job!

  35. J Elias on June 1, 2023 at 1:10 pm

Great reviews! I’m planning on picking up at least 5 of those you mentioned!! Thanks for making your videos and good luck with the channel, subscribed!!

  36. RexSeven on June 1, 2023 at 1:10 pm

My best $20 tools is a cheat. The Bauer 5" orbital corded sander is $40, but on sale for $19.99 regularly. Right now, actually. I have two of them. I’ve had the first for almost 2 years with no issues.

  37. Eric Summers on June 1, 2023 at 1:10 pm

I just found this video and thought you had at least 100k subscribers. Totally shocked. I’m certain you’ll explode
