    I recommend not screwing them very tight at all, because each time you are making a dent into the soft wood, and when you next wind it in to a position very close to that dent, it may pull itself back into the dent, and there goes your accuracy. You want a nice fat screw that’s about 10mm to mitigate this effect

    Wow, they turned out pretty good! But after watching this, I’m definitively going to buy a marking gauge! Haha, I had been thinking of making a pair of these, but I think I’ll buy a Veritas one instead. I’ll save when making my 36" drum sander myself. Haha

    They are easy to make and I used to make them at school when I was in teenager age and now I am definitely making another one these with Jarrah and wall be handy to see nice patterns shape in both kind of wood and thanks for your video it was amazing and its quick and easy to do
