    Nice work, jigs are amazing!
Why not insert the dowels all the way through the other side of the wood?

Hi. I’ve used that joinery on red maple corners, and yes it’s quite strong enough for most applications. I found that in the drilling of the work piece, a sacrificial board clamped at breakthrough keeps it clean on both sides.
    Good vid.

  16. F. D. on May 26, 2023 at 12:19 pm

There is no need to let the dowels go all the way through. You will get 98% of the strength when making the joint with hidden dowels…

  17. Louis Victor on May 26, 2023 at 12:19 pm

We all know that the best corner joints are just buds, no obscene amount of buds, no stems, and the police doesn’t show up to ruin things.

Very interesting tips. Thanks a lot.

  19. Tim Smith on May 26, 2023 at 12:20 pm

Great vid but can’t help thinking that this style of mitre clamp does not bring the joint tighter together.any one else feel the same.kindest regards tim

  22. Chong on May 26, 2023 at 12:23 pm

Excellent but I would align the grain of the dowel with the board of the board.

Never pass your hand behind the saw . Use a little piece of wood to push it

If you had turned the dowels used in such a way that their grain was parallel to the grain of the board, it would be even better!

Precision was outstanding. If you turn the woodgrain of the rod to match, it will hide/flow better.

How do we make a 36in Board Planer with (looks around…. ) a pile of leaves, a small dog, and an old band-aid?

*edit* : Bandaid is gone. Stupid dog.
