My grandfather made Lego boxes like that (without the plate on top and no divider, and a little shorter) for my uncles when they were little boys. My brother just inherited them a few years ago. I have fond memories of pulling those boxes out and building crazy creations with my uncles and brothers as a kid. This little gift could be a useful family heirloom!

But I’m totally in love with the tiny desk organizer. I need to make one!

Great ideas thanks!! I especially like the frame for the map, as I make/dye/print my own fabric and can just imagine framing a nice eco print like that and if it is a bit too floppy, I can wax it first. I am lanning to make a plenty types of waxed wraps for Christmas gifts as well to cut down on using cling wrap and they are so good for food

  26. Mike Dodds on February 14, 2022 at 11:10 pm

I noticed you used a β€˜scrap’ piece of wood to mix epoxy glue on. I use old β€˜ziplock β€˜ style bags, which I mix the glue on and then put to one side. Peel of the waste the next day and the bag is good to use several times.

I’m also a miniature figure painter 28 – 75 mm scales, so perhaps you might like to think of how a miniature display cabinet could be done.
