New DIYer here just got mines and its quite easy to use This is a great tool for beginners.
Great review!! I was really bummed at the title because I have been waiting to get one…but after watching I’m more sold on getting one now. We are VERY hard on our D shape dewalt. I have permanently locked the bevel at 90 because it was such a nuisance. But there is still nothing better as of yet…festools are ridiculously heavy and way too$$$. Thanks Logan!!
Great review ! Can’t wait to get one !
Very thorough and super helpful as always! Thanks Logan!
Pro, people are still buying dewilt
Con, they cost about the same as Milwaukee but don’t perform as well.
Bias? Nope, but if it’s yellow, 🤮 it will never be in my collection. Never been a fan of DeWalt, personal preference, but yeah.
Cordless jigsaw are so similar like everything else on the market it really comes down to price and color preference (even though Milwaukee is still at the top of the heap) , the features are all pretty standard these days. I say, whatever batteries you’re specced into, that’s what you should stay with. A few exceptions but honestly not much difference anymore.
that is a t slot holder, for adding a straight edge
I’m getting on with a free power stack kit
Wow, first video I saw and you are the typical diy , no absolutely nothing about tools , channel. Another guy who needs YT money to survive and hopes to get enough subs to get free tools and sponsorship.
Go do some research about jigsaws, then buy some , use them, then give a knowledgeable review. Start with a Festool, Bosch and the king , Mafell…then use the homeowner grade dewalt jigsaw for comparison.
would i buy or not buy the tool after this video ? nope i wouldnt. i didnt see anything that other jigsaws cant do. and this "showroom" atmosphere with some "tools" around gives the impression that someone tries to show up. no i dont like it
Idk why I hate this video so much
Well done. It was thoroughly researched and I also didn’t know about the guide attachment. Great work as usual!
Even over your music track that is clearly louder than the mic you had! I CAN STILL HEAR BLADE DEFLECTION lol
Great information
Where can I get the guide?
Great review sir. I think I’m going to buy it. Because of your title I almost don’t watch the review thinking that the barrel jigsaw was garbage.
I have the D handle version and I like it except for how the blade release open when backing up. I also have that edge guide which came in handy a time or two.
If he shaved his beard and put on a wig you could mistake him for Nic Cage
Cons 3 and 5 are the only ones that get me going. LoL… This is my favorite jigsaw of all time.
My dealt drill driver is an xrp but NOT brushless.
Battery position on this kind of defeats the purpose of it being a barrel handled jigsaw. I can’t keep my arm down like I can on my Bosch corded and that jigsaw is comfortable to use and accurate.
I just bought this jigsaw base on this review, so thanks , plus it doesn’t take too much for me, when I know that is Dewalt brand. Big fan of this brand.
Excellent review. No BS, just straight to the point. Job well done!
I have this and it does work well, I just wish it was a little smaller.
dude thats cool i love dewalt products and tools and had no idea. i have the D handle jig, D handle for life 😊😊
Awesome video! What a premium tool and very nice editing!
I’m a Milwaukee fan though.
My dewalt jigsaw I bought back in the late 90’s had a nice edge guide. I upgraded to the new xr and kept the edge guide
I currently have the D handle version I knew what those slots and that threaded hole were for but I too have until now spent endless hours looking everywhere trying to find the edge/circle guide that I thought it should’ve automatically came with. Also if one has an edge guide that will fit it already and just needs the threaded knob and spring it is the same one that works with the DCS 575 flex volt 7 1/4 inch circular saw, however the circular saws edge guide is way too wide to fit into the DCS334 or DC S33 fives edgeguide slots.
*Works well when used on wood pieces up 😊😊to an inch in thickness **MyBest.Tools** Also got a few different blades to use for cleaner cuts. Good product for the price.*
Great review! I’ve been looking for a reason to get rid of my old cord jigsaw, and this might be the reason too😂
Love the video, mainly because I also own this saw. Have had it almost a year and think it is superb. Very smooth and easy on the hand. Have not encountered the blade releasing when backing up but will see if I can make it happen. As far as blade deflection goes, I think blade choice has as much to do with this problem as the saw dose. Change of subject, We have the same taste in nail guns. I also have the same two Ryobi nailers you have on your wall. I purchased an adapter so I can use my DeWalt 20v battery’s with these Ryobi nail guns. Please keep making the video’s, learned new things about a saw I have, thanks.
@Dude Sawdust Damn you, I got this today and was frowning over the video’s title. Was wondering if this was a bad buy – I am a DeWalt guy, so checked why would anyone say not to buy. You got me 😂😂 great video BTW.
I have this same jig saw, but don’t like the feel and balance as well as my corded, D-handle version. But this is a VERY thoughtful review and I learned a lot — for the next time I use it. Thanks for the hard work and sharing your thoughts. You earned a new subscriber.
You deserve more likes
Will say that blade ejection on others is handy when the blade shapes and you need to dig out the piece left behind
I like my barrel grip jigsaw and the guide is also on their circular saws and has been for years The older corded circular saws used to come with a guide in the box
April 2022. Thank you brother. Liked and Subd!
My first jigsaw was a1983 Black & Decker that I still have but don’t use. I replaced it with a heavy Bosch t-handle blade jigsaw that is amazing, yet corded. I added a Dewalt 20V D handle cordless jigsaw to my arsenal around 2013 and burned it out on a job in 2105 after three straight ten hour days doing precision cuts. The Dewalt service center tech saw me walk in and replaced the dead saw with a brand new one on the spot and gave me a five pack of blades for my trouble. That replacement saw is still with me. Love the anti-lift plates that are optional but I usually use the down cutting blades so a lifting issue for the material is unusual.
Lol. I love mine. I’ve been using my milwaukee M18 for more than six years and I hate mine. It’s a lot harder switch a blade. 2nd, it’s never cut accurate. This is why I went to Dewalt. Now, I have no issues with my Dewalt at all. How did you concluded that Dewalt jigsaw is bad???
My bevel adjustment started slipping immediately…the manual says nothing about set screws, which I couldn’t see because of the plastic shoe cover. Thanks for confirming what I thought I was imagining. Not a word mentioned in the manual about set screws either.
Hey Brother. Just found your channel today. I was wondering if you knew for sure if Ryobi and Ridgid are coming out with a barrel grip jigsaw soon. By the way, my 20yr old corded Black&Decker has a variable speed trigger.
Great video, but I do not like the title of the video.
dude you reviewed the shit outta that saw yo
Nice review. I just got mine the other day and used it in earnest for the first time yesterday doing baseboards. The LEDs thing I noticed right away, they do blind on cuts from below, it would be so much better if they were switchable. Otherwise I’m very happy with it. I couldn’t believe how smooth it was, I considered the idea that the blade holder might be counterbalanced.
Wow! Your editing was fantastic!! Production value is definitely going up! Also, your reviews are some of the most detailed and thorough I’ve watched! I feel significantly better about considering the products you review! And I can tell you’re being completely honest in your assessments! Awesome video! Keep them coming! Thanks 👍
The constant stating that brushless motors will outlast brushed is absolute horse shit. That’s a lie spread by these manufacturers based on the brushes wearing down and even that takes decades the way most people use tools. Brushed motors will last for centuries because other than brush maintenance they are really invincible. Brushless motors most certainly have a finite life and that’s purely based on the amount of fragile electronics that control everything. I love my cordless tools, but we’ve been hoodwinked into buying tools that won’t last that are run by super expensive consumable power packs. They got everyone fighting over red vs blue vs yellow etc which of course clouds the real lies they tell. It’s the biggest swindle since New Coke. That said, the barrel body jigsaws are awesome for coping, especially when there’s no cord in your way.
Also the links do not seem to work when utilizing YouTube‘s mobile app to watch this video and try to get to the source of some of the accessories you mentioned.
you could spritz the led’s with black spray paint from a foot away and ghetto tint them
