Love the Rockler mat and set up blocks. Great choices

  2. CVNTGETENOUGH on January 5, 2023 at 1:59 am

If you were to start from scratch with a $1,200 budget what would you buy with that $1,200?

  3. Kevin Holmes on January 5, 2023 at 1:59 am

Hello, I’m from Canada and I’m just getting back into wood working. My shop is in a metal shed that is 12′ x 10′ which I share with my garden tools (lawn mower, snow blower, BBQ) I like your videos , how do I get free tools like you have?

  4. D_Town Nigil on January 5, 2023 at 2:00 am

These are great options, even for the guy who is a DIY, thanks!

Hola! 🖐Like the video, I really like the magnetic "hanger". Take care and have a good one, Adios! 👊

  7. bowlchamps37 on January 5, 2023 at 2:02 am

You only need those things if you bought inferior machines.

  8. Jose Pedro Espinosa on January 5, 2023 at 2:03 am

I installed the FastCap Zero Clearance Tape. Not recommended at all.

  9. Mark Puente on January 5, 2023 at 2:06 am

Hi Matt, could the Rockler fence clamps be used in conjunction with the setup blocks say for clamping a drawer or box joint?

  10. Relly Macatao on January 5, 2023 at 2:07 am

    😃❤👍

  11. Mark Cox on January 5, 2023 at 2:09 am

Just thinking you could combine two of these. If you put that FastCap tape on the out feed side of the sacrificial fence you would have a good offset for your jointer jig!

  12. UpTopMikeP on January 5, 2023 at 2:09 am

Great magic trick! Pulling a rabbit out of a board. Sorry, it was just waiting there. I agree with you that these are all indispensable, inexpensive tools. Thanks!

  13. M H on January 5, 2023 at 2:12 am

??? Matt says zero clearance tape is thick vinyl then when talking about throwing off the cut angle he says its thin vinyl

Great work, Matt. You had me at #RareEarthMagnets! Scott

  16. Allofthemonkeys on January 5, 2023 at 2:15 am

I have a magnet on my table saw fence and keep a dedicated tape measure right there

  17. Jerome Downing on January 5, 2023 at 2:15 am

The more tool I buy the bigger the van I nead

  18. Joshua Bass on January 5, 2023 at 2:15 am

Question for you. What is the stand you are using to hold the phone in some of the shots? I’ve been looking for something like that.

  19. Hansang Bae on January 5, 2023 at 2:16 am

@3:16, just lower your throat plate so everything is in the same plane. And that silicone mat is something you never thought you needed until you use it. Then it’s like ‘where have you been all my life!’ It’s AWESOME.

  20. Num on January 5, 2023 at 2:16 am

Thanks for the vid, added a few things to the cart 🛒.👌

  21. Matthew Muzzy on January 5, 2023 at 2:17 am

Hey Matt! Have you made a jerky cutting board? I would love to see how you would make one! Big fan
    -from Matt

  22. christene503 on January 5, 2023 at 2:18 am

Right now the zero clearance tape is only $10!

  23. p24t on January 5, 2023 at 2:19 am

When using neodymium magnets, be very VERY careful not to pinch your skin between them.

  24. Topcat1tanks on January 5, 2023 at 2:20 am

Have you tried Target’s plastic shelf liner? A lot cheaper than Rocker’s glue mat. Works the same way, glue doesn’t stick to it, and you get 4’ for $8.49 plus tax.

  25. Josh Nelson on January 5, 2023 at 2:20 am

How does the last one joint the board without having to move the material with the wood your jointing

  26. cob garner on January 5, 2023 at 2:20 am

Really enjoy the content of your channel. You might include the FastCap 10 Million Dollar Stick in your next 5 tools under $30. Cheers

  27. Ken Wells on January 5, 2023 at 2:22 am

FastCap "zero clearance" strips are a winner.
    Thanks for the tip!

    Who is Clerance?

  29. Jason Burns on January 5, 2023 at 2:26 am

You’ve come a long way from the dewalt tools, see a lot of Festool in the shop now, congratulations.

  30. bofa on January 5, 2023 at 2:28 am

that tape is on sale for $10 right now, 10/15

  31. John Lobert on January 5, 2023 at 2:29 am

I’m going to disagree with you on what zero clearance is for on a miter saw. A miter saw cuts on the up-cut, not the down-cut, like a table saw does. If you get tear out on a miter saw, it’s usually because you’re using a table saw blade, rather than a miter saw blade with a negative rake. On my miter saw, I use a zero clearance insert to keep chips from falling down. With or without it, I *never* get bottom tear out.

  32. Buddy Taylor on January 5, 2023 at 2:30 am

Your causing me to want to spend more money…..😂😂. Great video!!

  33. Doug Tilaran on January 5, 2023 at 2:32 am

I looked everywhere for mdf…plywood and stuff in my shop. Aint found none. All I have is wood

  34. Moonwolf71 on January 5, 2023 at 2:36 am

Do you think it would work in my scroll saw

  35. David Rodes on January 5, 2023 at 2:36 am

Couldn’t you use that 1-2-3 block as a center finding device too?

  36. Kyle Olson on January 5, 2023 at 2:38 am

I use the Zero Clearance tape on the Miter saw a bit. It’s great and easy. Still, if I bevel I usually have to replace it pretty quick. For that reason, I’ve got a Colliflower plate coming in the mail which is likely to make it obsolete. I use the Colliflower plate for the SawStop and I’m really happy.

I use Magnetic trays, but I recommend the round ones over the square ones because the square ones often have some dead zone at the edge that the round ones don’t.

    1-2-3 Blocks – What don’t they do?

The fence clamps like those are fine for sacrificial fences or jigs. Sometimes when I want a quick release variant I’ll make larger holes and use table clamps.

  37. Ryne Powell on January 5, 2023 at 2:38 am

Hey brother! Which link in description is for the jointing without a jointer that you referenced at 9:18? TIA

  38. Logan's Creations on January 5, 2023 at 2:38 am

Hi. @731woodworks For the zero clearance tape could it be used under the plate on a table saw my saw is the original kobalt saw that has a thin plate its like 1/16th or less thick. Thanks

  39. llewellinfelon on January 5, 2023 at 2:39 am

The zero clearance tape is 51% off ($9.99) for the pack of 5 strips right now (Amazon).

  40. Jim Bryant on January 5, 2023 at 2:40 am

A couple of months ago, I was finely tired of tear out on my miter saw – not only on the bottom, but also against the fence. I installed the Zero Clearence Tape on the throat plate and a zero clearance fence and now I have absolutely perfect cuts from my miter saw. The tape is highly recommended.

  41. Keith F on January 5, 2023 at 2:40 am

the rare earth magnet didn’t wipe out the key fob circuit board?

  42. Uncle Jim on January 5, 2023 at 2:44 am

When using your table saw to joint boards, you should not put pressure toward the fence on both sides of the blade unless you have a shim on your exit side the same thickness as the amount of wood you are shaving off. Remember, your jointer outfeed table is higher than your infeed table; hence, you put pressure on the outfeed side as the board exits the cutter head. Your FastCap tape may also be thick enough to be used as the shim — depends on how much wood you are removing and how thick the FastCap tape is ? Love your tee-shirts. Keep up the good work.

  43. Frank Langel on January 5, 2023 at 2:44 am

I love how you always point out the safety on any job or use of tools.

  44. DMNKLR on January 5, 2023 at 2:45 am

Hey Matt, don’t forget the fence clamps that TayTools also sell, which turn your 123 blocks into corner clamps!

  45. McMath Woodworks - Hugh McMath on January 5, 2023 at 2:47 am

Tools and tips in one video?! Good stuff Matt! Keep it up brother!!

  46. Kadir Aslan on January 5, 2023 at 2:48 am

    Thank you

  47. Tzvi Kagan on January 5, 2023 at 2:50 am

Instead of buying those universal fence clamps you can just use The micro jig dovetail clamp and cut a dovetail Slut in a piece of wood and then you can use the dovetail clamp for many other stuff(just suggesting not trying to attack)

  48. John Pierre on January 5, 2023 at 2:53 am

Am looking for a good miter saw fence. For my DW780 can you h6
