There is no chip breaker since the isron is bevel up. It does not need one. You can grind the bevel as you like, and the will prevent tear out.
There’s no chip breaker on this plane. The lever cap has no bearing in deflecting the wood shavings.

Is the friggin blade supposed to sit at an angle out of the shoe? I’m new, but I can’t imagine it’s supposed to dig in on one side. I already spent like two hours flattening the base an another hour or so squaring the blade. The quality control on these things is straight shit
it would have been way cool to have included proper reassembly
A bevel up plane doesnt need à chip breaker, a bevel down plane has a chip breaker because the the back of the iron is flat. So a lever cap on a bevel up plane does not funtion as à chip breaker
i agree the reassembly would have been nice but having bought this i still found it extremely helpful. thankyou
