What I have always enjoyed about Mr. Sellers and his methods, these are brilliant yet oh so simple in their own way. These are all great ways to build skills and make meaningful, useful gifts for our loved ones. No better way to learn than through practical application, please keep up the great work you all are doing.

I’d be a little concerned for my friends’ mental wellbeing if I went to their house and saw they stored their TV remote in a wooden box.

Can any of these be done without a workbench? That’s the real obstacle, and most workbench series utilize a lot of tool, tool sharpening, joinery, stock prep, lamination skills that seem like they need to be practiced first, but on what without a workbench? The other option is buy an expensive bench or buy an expensive bandsaw or other power tools / machines to make one without needing to have the hand tool skills already.

After years of watching you and other makers/craftspeople here on YouTube, wanting all the while to try it out myself, I’m finally getting a basic set of tools for Christmas! I’ll definitely be trying some of these projects out. Also, my mom did a little impromptu gardening with my nieces this year and they _loved_ it, so I’ll be building a few of those veggie planters you showed in another video to encourage their green thumbs and give them more quality time with their Grammy.

It’s amazing to have access to such a helpful, practical resource with nothing but a computer and an internet connection. Thank you.

Hi Paul, some great gift ideas, but please don’t leave your keys by the front door! Some of the worlds lowlife have perfected fishing and hooking skills through a letterbox. Seasons greetings to you and your family.

These are all wonderful ideas . I’ve somewhat adopted a phrase Mister Sellers used , "It’s not what you make , it’s how you make it " . Indeed sir . God bless

So the type of wood really doesn’t matter? I have some poplar and wanted to make a cutting board.

  12. Historic Home Plans on February 7, 2022 at 10:31 pm

Wonderful! I’m sending this to my niece. She does some woodworking in a small way and her 2 boys will very soon be just the right age to start. Thanks for sharing.

Has numerous details in this woodwork book *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . The book also displays several designs and descriptions on the materials used for various woodworking processes and also the guidelines on completing various procedures appropriately. In other words, I`m happy using this book, especially in the process of learning about wood working.?

Hi Paul. I am rediscovering wood working. I loved it in my school days, built my first boat The Lysander. 17 Foot sail boat. I did all the wood work in my home. then I drifted away from the wood working. As I am bored with this Covid 19 haven’t been out since March. So I am making moulds for planters. wife is painting them. I have been watching your channels and you make it easy for people like myself. I want to build a solid work bench to work on, no good using a chair to cut timber I have looked at the plywood bench you built, got your plans. I hope B Q could help me and cut the plywood on their machine.
One item I want you to tell me, what diamond sharpeners do you use. as there are so many types available. According to my wife I am 78 year old, born 19 Oct 1942. I have a bad memory.

    Many thanks

    Danny Davies

Paul you truly are one of a kind! I have gotten my six-year-old nephew into woodwork and these will be great additions to his Christmas list to be given away for others who don’t have much for Christmas. May God bless you in all that you do! Merry Christmas to you and have a very happy New Year!

Was great to see the real old time pencil box. I made one in school around 1974 …ish. I was blessed to have 2 great woodwork teachers, who really knew how to teach & just made you feel good.
I have never used woodwork to earn a living ………… but I come home from work & go to my garage & it makes me smile & I come out relaxed with a head full of ideas as to what I might do next.
Please keep doing what your doing Paul. Very much appreciated.

really… like the objects in a house, made of natural wood ..
this way you feel like you’re in nature ..
I always buy items that have a Christlike ability, that have some use ..
but at the same time be practical in my home as a practical person that I am,
I wish all the objects in my space had something else .., to have a way to transform into something else, that is, to have a second usability .., inside my house ….

really I like everything you did .. bravo..!
but I want more.. and I wand how you making all this beautiful things..

My old man went into the deep end with me, a dove tail fishing box. Still use it 25 years on. After several practice peices in soft wood scrap and ply. They were a little tatty but got better. Ply is fun stuff for dovetails. all these years later the skills are better but as a son you don’t forget the hours, spent learning and in awe of a greater skilled man. Now I’m getting their learning something everyday. Making daft mistakes still but that’s the fun. I was once told with reference to those who buy the best but can’t use it. "the magic is in the magicain not the wand"

I looked away when the title came up and said 1. Cutting Board and at 0:35 after talking about introducing your young kids to this wood item, I totally thought for half a second that you picked up a wooden paddle for discipline! 😆
