Follow me Nerds, as I show you a cheap 1 hour project I’ve made quite a bit of money with. The best part is it’s really easy and for me ends up selling for 9X the amount you pay in materials for it. In this video I show you not only how I build it but how I style and market this project to sell quickly.
JIG VIDEO IS UP!!!:
Wood and Cuts:
2 -1x4s ($7.00) – I used pine
Cut the legs at 60″
Cut 4 steps at 17″ with the leftovers
(Seriously that’s it, you can have them make those cuts for you in the store if you don’t have a saw)

It would look great with a Shou Sugi Ban staining as well….
How do you feel about Ryobi gear? Many people online say that they are not very professional..
Simple, neat and decorative. if I did this I think I might make a small flat at the head of the ladder where it rests on the wall, to spread the load over a larger area. I also would give an idea of how much to step out the foot and keep the rungs flat.
I am sure you will find a good way to do this on the Stodoys website.
If you’re using it to hang clothes/towels/rugs (so anything light), can you just use glue and brad nails to keep the project simpler?
Keep up with the good work
which circular saw is that?
awesome! there are soo many videos with snoblets in their 100k$ shops….i appreciate that you keep it simple and straight up…Thank You
I wish the wood working projects did not have to look so "country". I’m trying to figure out how to make these projects, but with a modern spin to it because a lot of people don’t want this country look.
No finish over the stain?
Thanks for sharing this is genius
You dont need to finish it? Given you sold many, i would think you have a jig to make assembling faster and more repeatable
Great project brother! Nice work. Subbed FO SHO!
Cheers
I made this exactly according to the video, it’s a pretty shit blanket ladder
This is awesome, thank you!
I am going to make one this weekend what’s the widths for the 2 sides and the steps ?
6-7 $? This is about 15 ft of lumber and Home Depot selling pine at about $1/ft so that’s $15
Buy a cheap ladder , cut into 3rds , stain , and profit
Easy, simple project!! 👍🏻 Great video. Thanks.
Do you bevel the top?
You should really think about counter-sinking those screws for each step and then using dowels and a flush pull saw to plug them for a nicer look. I honestly am surprised exposed screws on these pieces can sell for $50.
Nowdays, youre spending hundreds to make $7
Great video. How are you selling the various things you make?
What size screws did you use sir
Cost of material in 2021 …….. $700
Anyone want to buy a blanket ladder for $1,400 on sale?
Why doesn’t it slide down, fall down?
Bro make a video Library
(Wednesday May 26 2021) Greetings from Montréal, Québec, Canada !!! I do not have my older brother’s skills as a ‘Handyman’, but thank God to Youtube and all of you guys making videos on wood projects…you teach me so much, I shall be more knowledged soon…now I need to buy the tools to take the experience !!! Ha Ja Ha Looking forward to watching your previous and future videos, KEEP THEM COMING !!! Cheers !!!
do you sell them to stores or facebook or local markets?
my only question is, did you build/where did you buy that TV stand?
Thank you bro for the very informative video
If you’re making more than one, a jig would help
Honest question……
What exactly are blanket ladders for?
Just decoration, or actually functional?
Awesome! I really need one of these. I am a 4-foot burglar!
Thanks for the video. Great and easy to follow. What size of screws did you use to mount the steps to the legs?
Great content, subscribed
Made mine years ago beautiful addition to my theater room!! It’s so easy to make! Great vid!
Good project and info however the cheesy country guitar loop throughout the entire video made it hard to watch.
Did you use 1x4x10 pine? Or 1x4x8 ?
So, 1 of these per hour at $50 with $7 materials. $43 gross profit. Half in taxes = ~$21.50 / hr.
Not bad.
I’ve worked a lot harder and been paid a lot less.
Do you just sell these locally and deliver them or do you ship them? If you ship then, what do you use for shipment? (Packaging, rates, etc.)
I made outdoor window shutters using Cedar Fence pickets. Sold each set (per window) for $99. So like someone has 8 windows, they need 8 sets. Or $800 for one job
I can appreciate the sweaty moobs, I just about lost it 😂😂. I work in a hot garage in the summer and a freezing garage for the winter. I prefer a cool garage
Awesome video! Thank you for not using a drum sander and plainer. It’s ridiculous how many “easy to make” videos include thousands of dollars worth of tools.
Good luck getting that wood for $7 now
Hey bud,
Quick question. Do you make any angled cut at the top of the ladder where it leans against the wall?
Thanks Chris
Great video, I love RYOBI tools.
My girl has like 10 million blankets, I’m building this lmao
Thank you!
Thanks for the vid man! Feel free to check out some of my vids for other ideas. Just type in Craig Colbourn. I try to put some easy diy’s out there. 😉
