I’ll show you how to edge joint boards without a jointer. This works great if you are making table tops and you need the boards to line up perfectly without gaps. This video is not sponsored. I made something like this. Instead of routing grooves for clamps, I just attached some toggle clamps to the board. It worked perfect for what I was doing.
I love this channel. Very cool ideas! 😃
Linka to "micro jig" would be good too…
Thanks for this. Now I can plane boards too without the machine cost. By the way, please tell me what brand and model of miter saw you used there.
Thats awesome
Thank you bro
How wide is your grooves on top?, and will a regular dovetail work? I’ve cut a 5/16” groove first.
I get so tired of hearing you call perfectly good wood of any kind "Scrap" I only call wood "Scrap" if it’s only good for the burn pile. Lowe’s and Home Depot make what you call "Scrap" and make a lot of money selling it!
My first attept at cutting with a dovetail. I have the Dewalt DW 6184. Initial test cut, plywood, against the grain, speed setting 4. The router struggled which surprised me. So, my text test cut, still against the grain, up ran the speed all the way up to 6 (max). Seem to cut better, but near the end it was difficult to push thru & it struggled again. i read where someone recommended using a 1/4 in straight bit for the first cut, then come back with the dovetail. That helped but near the end, again, it was a bit hard to push through. In each try, it wasn’t the cord. I was going L to R. I didn’t purchased the bit he is using on this video. Mine is the Bosch Precision Pro (Lowes). About half the price of the one in the video. Any suggestions?
Can I use T Track instead of the micro jig?
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼😎
You’ve just saved me quite a bit of money that I was going to spend on a jointer/thicknesser, and you’ve saved me some space in my small house as well. I think I’ll use some of the money saved to buy some aluminium T-tracks and put them on the sled. They should be more durable than the plywood grooves.
0:13 bold of you to assume I have 3/4" scrap laying around 😂 #makeplywoodcheapagain
Hi from Jerusalem ! You did real nice work thank you
When you ate making the dove tail grooves could you stop and not go all the way through to the squared side? That way your clamp will not hit the saw blade? Also if you look at their website you can remove the screw and reverse the postion of the clamp so the dove tail of the clamp is facing away from blade.
Holy smokes, 4:47 is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for so that I can cut risers for a simple wheelchair ramp. I can get really close cutting by hand with a circular saw, but a jig makes this quick and on the money.

Digging the shirt man!
All I use is a thick aluminum edge guide and some double sided tape. Works great for me.
Can you have a blade guard with this setup? I’m sort of new at woodworking and need a blade guard, for the jointer jig.
Wow, sir you are really good you are one podcaster I’m going to search your stuff
1:28 Damn, I think a lot of us use those same masks. I have 2 of them.
As an amateur it took me some to realize that rounding corners with a router was possible – I just thought everyone used loads of sanding paper and did it manually haha
What are the two long tracks 2" in used for? Just another clamping option?
can i use a 3/8 keyhole instead of a dovetail?
Damn awesome video mate
Lol at 🇨🇦$80 a sheet there is no such thing as a scrap piece of plywood 😂
Oops, I guess I shouldn’t have bought that Jointer. Nah, I’d rather have it rather than another jig.

I need to do this
I believe you could make a clock out of wood
This is the best video ever. You are amazing
I think it could also serve as a planer sled as well! You could just put shims and use it to plane the face as well. This really does sounds perfect
Wow, your channel has grown! I was subscribed before COVID but stopped woodworking primarily due to back/neck issues shortly thereafter. About the time I quit, you had made the decision to go "all in" on your channel. I am happy to see you with 437,000+ subscribers. I am thinking of gently coming back to woodworking. I’ll be back. 😁
One thing I saw on another video, glue a piece of wood for the miter track first, then use that as a guide to rip down the jig on the table saw , and that will line up the miter track parallel to the jig.
This was an awesome video! Thanks!
..king brilliant, mate, so’s the dovetail clamp idea . . . I’m in your debt.
What did you use to attach your track saw guides to your garage door?
I made one but then it warped. How do you keep it from warping?
What is the best table saw blade for jointing?
Excellent! You just cost me some $$$:)
You can glue really small pieces of wood into the dovetail edges , to keep the clamp from sticking past the edge, that way you don’t cut into the clamp. Or set off the cartridge on the SawStop.
You say (4:37) that the straight edge goes against the saw and the chamfer end goes against the fence. I thought the straight edge was the guide that goes against the fence. What am I missing?
Amazing
Really diggin ur videos. I’ve built a couple of your tool carts and love em. I wanna build one of these next.
We need to stop misleading beginning woodworkers into believing that jointing only involves the edges of wood. Jointing always starts with a flat face on one side of the wood. At least, the discussion of a flat face. Once a flat face has been created, then and only then, can we joint an edge. Jointing a face requires the tool you say ‘don’t use’, the jointer. Sure, you can use the planer for the task, but it’s much easier to have a 10 inch Wahuda jointer to do the job. Please don’t mislead the beginners.

The dovetail clamps are a bit too expensive for me, are there cheaper options?
Thanks, this is awesome, and the video explained everyrhing very clearly. Really like the quick presentation, and lack of fluff
Sencillamente genial!!! Gracias por compartirlo 👏👏👍👍
