So whats the deal with #36? It’s not good to use denatured alcohol and you should use something like Everclear instead?

  2. Joe Wheeler on April 5, 2023 at 8:07 am

I like the magnet with plastic. I’m going to use this Tipp when I dump my miscellaneous parts bucket over β€œabout 4 times a year”.

As a woodwork teacher I showed safety Paramount to finishing or making a job showing dangerous techniques is incorrect

I just used the finger impression tip to go find a star drive, worked first time, and it took me nearly a minute to get to the toolbox, gotta be the tip of the year, someone’s gotta get that tip to Adam Savage, always complaining about grabbing the wrong hex key

That was a great idea about the cathedral grain Direction however can we not show dangerous operations such as turning Square pieces on the lathe show how to prepare the edges by cutting them on a bandsaw

Shawn you and your Dad had a lot of valuable tips imbedded in this fun little video. Thanks. Cheers, Tom πŸ‘ BTW: I think you should stick to woodworking (turning in particular) as I don’t think you’re ready for the Comedy Club. πŸ™„

    Brilliant

  14. Alan A. on April 5, 2023 at 8:18 am

I love these kind of videos! Sure, I knew about 97 of these, BUT I learned 3 new jewels! I have been working wood since I was 7. I have never had the idea that "I know all that!" In this case, I learned 3 new nuggets. I love the Idea of chucking up a hook to hang drivers/drills. Also, I should clarify: I learned 2 things from your list, but 1 from the background; You have what looks like 3 or 4 inch white PVC pipes mounted to the wall for storing sandpaper and drill motors. I will implement that ASAP as all my battery drill motors are wasting valuable shelf space! Should have been "Bonus Tip #101".

How do you like Mahoney’s finish? Was thinking of trying it out on furniture followed up by his wax. I know it’s not a durable finish but it’s easy and non toxic. Seems like a cheaper option to Rubio’s or Osmo.

  16. Richard Rider on April 5, 2023 at 8:22 am

Ya, I’m still here too. Can’t believe I was around to see the first one…cheers…rr Normandy, France

But…but…. a scrub plane is my favorite plane to use.

I used to put some neon tape on my bandsaw to try to remind me to re-tighten before use. someone on-line suggested putting a cheap Carabiner around the blade when you loosen it- you won’t start it with that still on there . I’ve been happy with that method.

N here’s a random for you, I know you like myself love Osage. Osage shavings are one the best dyes for fabric, hell maybe wood but your tip on metal shavings reminded me that adding metal shavings to osage dye is how you get green! I just dyed a shirt I use in reenactments.
