I have a set of Xacto knives in a nice blonde box which includes a plane like that. I used it in model railroading as a child. Everything you said about the plane matches with my experience of 50 years ago! Thank you for the fun, reminiscent, video.

I wonder if the (disposible?) iron has the hole for use in another exacto product like a scraper and they just adapted it.
