Perfect. Now the bread crumbs have a spot to get caught up in

Looks 10x better, Awesome work
Jake Birkmaieron June 5, 2023 at 12:34 pm
Definitely would’ve used a bearing guided chamfer bit here on the two pieces separately.
That technique doesn’t leave a lot of room for error, good job lining it up.

next time add a sacrificial piece of wood to prevent tear out. but the v groove adds a great look.

Where did you get your guide/fence
Joe Cafferataon June 5, 2023 at 12:41 pm
Important point when doing this, make sure the side of the bit closest to the guide is against the direction of travel, otherwise the router tends to want to drift off the fence.
Yonnie Woodson June 5, 2023 at 12:45 pm
What kind of wood is that
Electric Sheepon June 5, 2023 at 12:45 pm
Good timing, have a cabinet that is getting a breadboard due to… ‘choices’… This looks pretty nice!
S Kon June 5, 2023 at 12:46 pm
The top groove is added for the same reason as the notch on the side, to allow for the different movements of the timbers end and side grains

"Looks an feels great?" It’s a table! How ya gonna clean the food from that groove?

Cheap, manufacturers have been doing this since the 60s.

It looks great but from my experience building furniture. The food on the table will catch in the groove and be a pain to get out. If a person were to fill the groove with an epoxy that would keep the food out of the groove.

That extra detail does make it stand out, funny how simple touches to wood work give it a little more character.

That’s a good idea. I feel like I should have seen it before bc it makes so much sense

As someone who had the bread board detail on all four sides my dinner table- I vote we change the name to, the crumb catcher detail

There’s a reason why wooden bread boards are flat. The v grove is a sanitary issue.
I fucked up. So lets make a you tube video on it.
what’s a breadboard?
That made it
