By creating a kitchen trivet, George Vondriska demonstrates a simple woodworking tip for adhering ceramic tile to a piece of wood. He recommends applying a coat of HiPURformer Advanced Bonding System to the underside of the tile substrate. After the hot glue cools, it will keep the tile and wood together up to a temperature of about 280 degrees.

I am now told tile on wood would crack over time due to different expansion/contraction rates etc. Not sure if that is true.

I have painted ceramic tiles I want to adhere to wood and hang on the wall as art. Will this method work while it is hanging perpendicular to the floor?
good vid ….thanks……..
Just use wood glue man. The tile is rough enough to join much stronger than over rated hot glue. You buy kits to fix a loose tile, guess what. Ponal makes that kit. 100% cheap wood glue. Works perfectly.
Hot glue 4 corners silicone the middle. For side panels the hot glue will bond quickly as the other dry slowly.
Just use silicone mastic. Easy.

That’s great, but the nearest hardware store is an hour away. I want to glue tile onto a shelf. I have E6000 and 527 at my house.
