QUESTION OF THE DAY: What do you primarily build with a compound miter saw? Would you prefer to use it in a portable stand or a custom built miter station?

Thanks for telling about arbor and not enough length for dado blades

  2. Anthony Iavarone on October 16, 2022 at 3:25 am

I had the same table saw and I love my table saw thanks to your demonstration my love it

  3. Alex Malm on October 16, 2022 at 3:25 am

I’m shopping around for ideas right now. I use a sawstop brand shop style courently making landscape and survey Markers. Mostly use pine just wanted to know if this setup would hold up extended amount of time or if I’d need a heavier duty type of saw.

  4. Lost Sailor on October 16, 2022 at 3:31 am

Did you say the arbor does not fit dado blades or just the clearance plate?

  5. kryptik0 on October 16, 2022 at 3:31 am

There is nothing amazing about any jobsite saws, other than the price. They are all crappy and won’t give you precision cuts no matter what. They are okay for doing construction work where tolerances are much higher. But if you want to do any serious woodworking, a cast iron top precision table saw, even a used craftsman would do a much better job.

  6. Len Walker on October 16, 2022 at 3:32 am

A solid saw. A perfect starter! Thanks.

  7. MrRichBenn on October 16, 2022 at 3:35 am

    Mistakes. 24.5” in the smaller.

  8. Zack Vance on October 16, 2022 at 3:36 am

I want to buy a shop table saw on a budget to build furniture. Would you recommend one of these jobsite table saws or a used Craftsman like the one you mentioned? I see many of those older ones for sale.

Thanks for this video. I have been using DeWalt compund miter saw for years and love it. So when my daughter and SIL bout me this DeWalt table saw for Christmas, was over the moon. However. I have never used a table saw before, though will be putting to a lot of use. This video was good for becoming familiar with the saw itself. Thanks!

  11. Brent Odb on October 16, 2022 at 3:39 am

  12. Christopher Claudio Skierka on October 16, 2022 at 3:40 am

hi , okay video, may i ask you in terms of being accurate , how good are the cuts would you say 1/25th mm ? Also the mitre slots are they straight and true ? I have a table saw (evolution) it is not good at all :(. thank you to reading my question

  13. Jason Babila on October 16, 2022 at 3:41 am

Dewalt makes great job site table saws, I have the DWE7490X that has a 28.5” rip capacity and the flip over fence for narrow cuts, it did come with a low end miter gauge but I ended up getting a much better miter gauge, it also came with the same stand as yours but I got a better stand with wheels.

  14. Jason Honingford on October 16, 2022 at 3:41 am

Can you extend the rip capacity with a 3rd party rail or by clamping something on?

  15. Shed Man X on October 16, 2022 at 3:43 am

I bought the new model about 6 months ago. Best saw I’ve ever used. Can’t recommend it highly enough. 👍🇦🇺

  16. Kevin Oxley on October 16, 2022 at 3:43 am

Would you recommend it for permanent use in a small workshop so it can be stored when not in use? Or would you recommend a different model?

  17. andrewford80 on October 16, 2022 at 3:45 am

Nice review mate.Very informative. Appreciate it

  18. Wonder_ Nugget on October 16, 2022 at 3:45 am

I just bought one from Rona not too long ago, beyond satisfied with this model! Thanks for the review. Helped me make my decision when looking around for one!

Would be nice to have wheels on the stand.

  20. Mr Reason on October 16, 2022 at 3:46 am

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What do you primarily build with a compound miter saw? Would you prefer to use it in a portable stand or a custom built miter station?

  22. JERRY MILLER on October 16, 2022 at 3:50 am

This saw has straight, not table T-slots. In my opinion this is a serious safety hazard. I have one of these hazardous saws and using the miter gage may injury a person. It’s only a matter of time. Be Safe, and make a large miter sled. The sled may not totally prevent injuries, but will certainly limit them.
    Be Careful with this saw!!

  23. PowerTool Expert on October 16, 2022 at 3:50 am

Excellent video! Very explaining the various features of the table saw.

  29. Michael Vigors on October 16, 2022 at 3:57 am

    Brilliant

  30. Mark Fannin on October 16, 2022 at 3:58 am

  32. Georgelfc78 on October 16, 2022 at 4:03 am

Hi can you make a rabbit /rebate cut with riving knife in position

  33. Gold Family on October 16, 2022 at 4:04 am

I have dwe7491rs and the miter gauge is solid metal easier to read and it’s a t-track. Other dewalt tablesaw model doesn’t accept dado blade and miter gauges are crap.

  34. Shaun Beard on October 16, 2022 at 4:05 am

What size is mitre gauge slot please and is it t slot or rectangular channel

  35. Michael Hardy on October 16, 2022 at 4:05 am

12AH lithium ion battery 60 volts flexvolt Dewalt

  36. phoenixfritch on October 16, 2022 at 4:09 am

When taking the fence off and moving it back and forth to the other side of the blade, does it stay truly parallel to the blade every time? I have a Delta right now and the fence isn’t on rails like this so you unlock it and move it but you have to use a square every time to at least get it perpendicular to the top or bottom edges of the table. So am looking for other options where the fence stays reliable. Thanks!!!

  37. demskies on October 16, 2022 at 4:11 am

I cant find one without the stand

  38. LIRANSOLOMON on October 16, 2022 at 4:11 am

  40. Shaun Beard on October 16, 2022 at 4:13 am

Could u tell me What size mitre gauge slots are and if they are t slot or rectangular many thanks

  41. Peter on October 16, 2022 at 4:13 am

New sub here. What is the model number of the other saw?

  42. P Rex on October 16, 2022 at 4:16 am

Can’t rip a sheet in half, pass.

  43. destroy43 on October 16, 2022 at 4:19 am

Just lift the fence off those two bolts and you get a wider cut, it has clamps built in to keep it in place. I know you can hit 23", maybe 24" if you leave the fence hanging off the edge a little?!??

  44. John G on October 16, 2022 at 4:19 am

How close can the fence get to the blade?

  45. AverageJoe2013 on October 16, 2022 at 4:19 am

Can you make a lap joint with the saw or will the knife get in the way?

  46. David Crandell on October 16, 2022 at 4:22 am

great review Mark. I’m in the market for a new table saw. Its down to the Metabo or the Dewalt and you’ve definitely given me some food for thought. Thanks for posting.
