Good job boys but the young man has learned some bad wood machining habits that have Been outdated since the 60s due people losing fingers bet there are are few old guys in the machine shop missing a few and you got all the machines except a decent dust extraction system you can also get a machine that coverts the chips into pellets for burning of setting the cost the system install might want think about your long term health no mention the fire risk could on but do respect your wood working skills

When he pulls back on the saw outrigger it take lots of body motion to move that machine; lack of maintenance and lubrication makes a sad scene. There are American wood shops that have the same attitude toward maintenance schedules.

I am taking a rough guess that there is no legal requirements for workers safety, where this video is being made?

Very good job in a very unsafe with no any proper personal protection gears , I undrestand the circumstances, you have no choice but to work as you inhale dangerous fume , protect yourself as nobody care about your health specially your boss or his customers.

  30. Shannan Schisler on March 10, 2023 at 7:15 am

I’m really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.

In a way it’s a shame that YouTube doesn’t monitor this type of video, or cautioning the viewer as this is how ‘not to do it’. I agree with many of the other comments re safety. Using a circular saw – almost riding it – with flip flops on. No mask, no ear defenders or goggles with the Table Saw – the list goes on. Come on YouTube – let’s add some safety notice please.

When you have the auger bit protruding that far from the 4 walls of the square chisel you get tearout and rough cutting

  40. Alexander Scharwächter on March 10, 2023 at 7:24 am

    I don’t get it.
What’s the point to jointing boards without a fence ?

  49. James Thomas on March 10, 2023 at 7:40 am

It’s a lot easier to work off of a work bench than on your knees, also that wasn’t very smart to let go of a board on the RIP saw to run around to other end to pull the board thru the saw.
