Live Life Untucked, #WorkHardPlayHarder
Im looking to sell a Oliver 232-D table saw, a Oliver 144-BD jointer , and two Oliver 159-A lathes for 3k even for all the mechanics if you or anyone is interested please contact me by email gioocasio@gmail.com and on subject put Oliver tools its firm for all of them as a bundle
The sliding table saw is a very desirable Hammond Trim O Saw. Made in Kalamazoo. Originally built for the letter press industry and designed to trim lead type from a Linotype machine. You can find out more information on the Vintage Machinery website. It’s a beauty!
Best time to call? I’m just getting into the wood working business. I havent gotten many tools and I have to go cheap on power tools or buy used. So I’m greatly interested.
I used to live in Wayne – was surprised to hear the name when you started talking. Love the shop and old tools – they don’t make them like that anymore. Congrats to Bob on retirement. Scott
you should get us a price list of what he is selling, I’d hate to call and bug him and not buy anything.
Do you have any two inch wide chisels with a seven inch long blade? Sorby preferably
It kills me when I miss opportunities to buy such nice machines that are only 45 minutes away. I had to drive 8 hours each way to pick up my 20" Oliver 166, right around the same time as this sale was happening. Great machines. I hope Bob enjoys his "semi" retirement.
What a brilliant idea to help a friend this way Jon. Quite a fascinating shop. I look forward to the interview with Bob. Amazing that you had such a brilliant mentor and teacher.
The sliding ladder is from a telephone central office.
For retiring Bob looks fit💪🙂 nice Oliver jointer by the way.
Hi Jon, just subscribed, I also have an interest in woodwork and art, just like to say I enjoy your style and have found all you videos pleasant and interesting. Respect and greetings from down-under.
have fun in your retirement Bob
Some pretty neat tools, but I don’t have the space, money, or the ability to get them into my basement shop, lol.
That smaller sliding table saw was really cool. I’ve never seen one small like that. I can imagine it would have been very handy. Lucky guy whoever was picking it up that day.
Thanks for the quick tour. Fantastic old machinery.
I’m looking forward to the interview.
Thank you Jon.
Nice mini tour. Cool old machinery.
I really love and seriously admire just walking around and looking at an older mans shop . I can tell his quality of craftsmanship and level of dedication to his craft by seeing his shop and listening to him speak about it . It’s priceless .
Fine, you got me. $25 for the case of Yuengling. Not a penny more. Gorgeous jointer, pity to sell it.
Great vid. Hate to see him retire with all that knowledge. Beautiful tools.
Congrats on retirement Bob!!
Do you have any jack planes?
Oh…if I had the resources. Thanks for sharing this.
That was great Jon some old DeWalt stuff there, OH man what a man cave. Thank’s for the share look forward to the rest and have a nice day take care.
Hey Jon I’m really looking forward to seeing the interview with Bob. And it was nice to see where you worked many years back too. Thanks!
I saw the Oliver jointer and my jaw just dropped. A friend of mine was a shop teacher in the 1980’s and the HS had a big old Oliver jointer that he says ran so smoothly that you could lay a quarter on edge and it wouldn’t fall over when you started the motor up. I wish I had a way to get tools from NJ!
That’s cool that we got to see where you worked many years ago John. I’m sure Bob is proud his shop employed Jon Peters. That must be something…
"I recommend this guide:
*yoro.best/woodworking/xv8*
So grateful it exists in 2020."
I had a little Deja Vu watching this.. I saw all the same stuff on Craigslist yesterday!
I am looking forward to the interview.
He seems like a wealth of knowledge. I wish I had room for some of those tools!
Jon, a great platform for old iron is OWWM.ORG. This is an excellent website for all machines old, Pre 50s. Another ran by Keith Rucker is Vintage Machines.org. Both have a "for sale" area. Good luck all those machines look great. I’m envious of whom ever gets them.
Looking forward to the "Bob" interview. He looks like a Woodworker, don’t ask me why.
I need to find a new home for a "Marshalltown Manufacturing Throatless Shear".
The ID plate states:
"Patent No. 1651654
"Serial No. 3366
"No. 12H
The tool itself is intact, unmodified, rust-free and . . . heavy!
I hope that someone here can advise me of its history and value?
It is in Bentonville, Arkansas (72712 zip).
Thanks,
Jay
Nhiều máy quá.mất hết không gian làm việc
I’m so gutted I live in uk would love to buy some bar clamps, I can’t find any over here in uk
Thanks for the tour, Jon. Those machines are amazing!
id love to have that oliver jointer.
Most brought on by Obama.
Hey 1st here
Those are tools when bought back in the day were made to last a lifetime and then some Love the jointer Thanks for sharing
WHY is he retiring?
I have that same Dewalt radial arm saw. I love it dangerous as hell though
Great old saws, very nice!
wish my shop was bigger.
Hey John! thanks for the tour. I’m in N. Haledon and might reach out to Bob on what he has. What were the names of those lumber suppliers he mentioned? I’m looking for good sources of hardwood in NNJ
