Dave I’ve been curious about the software. I use turbocad pro to do my designs and it seems that the software is very close to it. Thanks again for a very informative Video.

`I already know how to do most of what you have covered, but this is the best video on getting started with vcarve or aspire I have seen as it is broken down into essential steps and clearly and unpretentiously explained.. My only criticism is it is hard to find the next video since you have other categories you do videos on.. It would be helpful to add part 1, part 2 etc. to the title in each series. I can’t find part 3. Great job though..

A good teacher is not the one who knows too much . Rather the one who knows what the student would be thinking at that moment. You are one of them. God bless you gentleman.

Dave. You must have been a teacher in your last life. Very clear descriptions and bite sized chunks. Looking forward to your next video. It might be worth mentioning that you can download trial versions of the software free from Vectric if you haven’t done so already.

Why did you choose to use Aspire vs Fusion 360?

Do you have a sequential list of tutorials on the Aspire Vector software?

Sadly the price of the Vectric software is beyond the pocket of most handyman potential users.

Hi David, I like your videos. I have some questions about Aspire software. Is it completed program to use CNC machine. Do I need any additional programming for my X-Curve machine. And last one, can it be used off line?

  32. Omar Matus on December 6, 2022 at 12:45 am

Very nicely explained. I’m brand new in Aspire. Thank you. Very good job.

Hi David, I ordered my CNC machine and will be getting it mid May 2019. I dont have to say it, but I cant wait. Ive got Aspire and I`m doing tutorials but it is not helping me very much. Your video is great! Where do I find the video that follows this one? Chris – South Africa

  35. Sue Adams on December 6, 2022 at 12:47 am

Hi Dave I’m wondering if you are able to help me with a question regarding tool paths in aspire… specifically the finishing path.

Hey David you are a hoot were you a school shop teacher that is how good you are. Have you ever been a machinist or programmer im going to guess no but that’s just me.none of what im saying is bad i just see the little things and im going to watch every video because im a old machinist and i know a lot about cad/cam but not autodesk ie vectric most of my stuff is in Catiea or mastercam keep cranking and thank you

  41. Euan McGill on December 6, 2022 at 12:54 am

Great simple video for people new to CAD, I would add to the helpful tips on moving around the job the three icons at the top with magnifying glasses. Its hard to see on the video, but one will be probably be Zoom to Selection (where you can drag a box over the portion of the job you are interested in and the view will zoom to just that box), and the other handy one is Zoom to Fit (where it will zoom out to fit all of the job in the view). These two save a lot of faffing with scroll wheeling and panning to get exactly the view you want.

PS Apologies if you cover this later 🙂

I’m new to CNC and building a 1200mm X 1500mm 6 Axis w/2.2kW water cooled spindle and MACH3. Have the mechanical portion completed and currently building the electrical control system. It’s been a lot of fun and going well. Vectric Aspire is a nice piece of software I particularly enjoyed your video, especially when you do a closeup of the ICON you are selecting it is very helpful and I’ve got a lot to learn. I can’t wait to get my system calibrated and up and running. Thank you for your visual help. Jack, Meadow Lands, PA, USA.

Thanks Dave got my new K6090T cnc on order comes a copy of vcarve pro so will be following you on your cnc journey as we learn together

  47. Roman Komarovich on December 6, 2022 at 1:10 am

To do the same in fusion360 is much easier and you have 3d view. Aspire looks outdated to me.

  48. Ray Jackson on December 6, 2022 at 1:12 am

I am new at this, very simple explanation must be the accent

  49. Ted Zukowski on December 6, 2022 at 1:12 am

I’m new to the entire CNC thing. Can this software be used with any machine I purchase or is it only specific to certain ones?

  50. Triumf Dula on December 6, 2022 at 1:14 am

I think i saw mach3 on the screen first, since i have just begun learning about cnc and softwares, wanted to ask, isn’t aspire a cam cad software, if yes why do use mach3 too, is mach3 a cam software, why cam from mach3 and cam from vertric aspire ?, something i don’t understand !
