wheres the review?….specs? bed mill calibration? mouth calibration? blade flatness? steel spec?…glad you like dude….(with enough time one can literally tune up any plane to cut beautiful even ribbons)

  3. Triune Blades on January 17, 2022 at 10:47 pm

I wish Stanley would’ve made one like this. Very nice.

  4. Peter Capon on January 17, 2022 at 10:55 pm

If you are on a budget get a Luban equivalent had to open the throat with a file other than that I’m well impressed. Watch your pinkys if you are using it as a block plane but as a rabbet bloody good tidying tenons.

  5. Craig Mouldey on January 17, 2022 at 10:56 pm

I picked up a Stanley from Home Hardware for about $65. Toe to heel, top to bottom, it’s a piece of junk.

  6. sofiane ben hadj on January 17, 2022 at 10:56 pm

    very very good

  7. Nelson Wiegman on January 17, 2022 at 10:57 pm

I have one and can not get it adjusted to achieve a shaving. The blade does not extend below the sole.

  8. randal kramer on January 17, 2022 at 10:57 pm

    I just placed my order.

  9. Justin Sane on January 17, 2022 at 10:59 pm

Totally agree… I treat mine like she’s one of my own shop dogs. Feed, walk, care for, and ensure it has a special place to lay it’s head.

I get it man and I like what you do, but maybe a little drinking

  14. linop412 on January 17, 2022 at 11:10 pm

I came here to find out which was the best and why and you creeped me out to the point where I don’t even want one now. That said, can I get the link to it lol.

  15. Robert Spath on January 17, 2022 at 11:11 pm

I bought one after watching this video. It has been the most useful block plane I’ve ever owned. I can’t imagine not having it. I get it now. Having watched this again, I think I will make a holster for it.

  16. Frontline DIY on January 17, 2022 at 11:12 pm

    Super drunk haha

  17. Kyle Grant on January 17, 2022 at 11:13 pm

I was thinking about getting the LN standard block plane- Why is the rabbeting plane better?

  18. Dimitar Dimitrov on January 17, 2022 at 11:14 pm

    ,,, waste of time!

  19. Boris Kogan on January 17, 2022 at 11:15 pm

when was the last time you visited the lie-nielsen site? they’re literally out of everything. some tools don’t even have pages anymore, while others are mostly out of stock. yes, including the block plane you drone on about here. i’ve had a $2800 order sitting in my cart for over eight months now with no end in sight. i fucking hate covid and i hate trump.

  20. Jason Elliott on January 17, 2022 at 11:16 pm

Not sure what you’re eating, drinking or smoking… but I want some

  21. Daniel Dunn on January 17, 2022 at 11:17 pm

Just admit that you sleep with your block plane😀

  22. Robert Fliege on January 17, 2022 at 11:17 pm

One of the first block planes I bought. It comes out of the tool chest for just about every project.

  23. Bruce Johnson on January 17, 2022 at 11:19 pm

I’ve got one. It’s really nice. I use mine to trim large tennons. It doesn’t have an adjustable mouth though, and you don’t really want to camber the blade (kind of messes it up for joinery purposes). Therefore its a good idea to get a regular adjustable mouth block plane too.

  24. Chris Bry on January 17, 2022 at 11:20 pm

ok,ok, ordering it now. Lie Neilsen you should send this guy something nice.. seriously

  25. Pat Bassman on January 17, 2022 at 11:21 pm

Of course you plug Lie Nieslen when you get free bees , if i had that sort of money to waste id buy quality British planes like Clifton.

  26. dannypbobber on January 17, 2022 at 11:22 pm

Hi, do you recommend owning the rabbit plane over of a regular low angle block plane? It seems to make sense if the rabbit plane can do everything the low angle block plane can plus rabbits.

  27. NICU411 on January 17, 2022 at 11:22 pm

Good call bro. I purchased it after seeing this video. The plane is dope.

  28. Joshua Grimm on January 17, 2022 at 11:23 pm

Lie Nielsen needs to pay you😊. I went back and forth between Veritas and Lie Nielsen and it was your unfiltered testimony to this plane that I purchased the LN. Thanks for pushing me over the edge.

  29. David Baumgarner on January 17, 2022 at 11:23 pm

    @ 5:34 – earned every penny brother!

  30. Dave Dyer on January 17, 2022 at 11:25 pm

    You ridiot

  31. Cerberus on January 17, 2022 at 11:25 pm

I’m not a serious woodworker, but trying to overcome a bad tool just makes everything harder. My LN #62 Low-Angle Jack
is the best working hand plane I ever bought. So now I’m waiting on this little jewel.

  32. Wolfie565 on January 17, 2022 at 11:26 pm

    Bud ya need help!

  33. George Gonzalez-Rivas on January 17, 2022 at 11:27 pm

Gee, would it make sense to show a closeup of the actual freakin’ plane? And perhaps discuss its features/design and not your emotion?

  34. NavySturmGewehr on January 17, 2022 at 11:28 pm

It better be freak’n great. I ordered it based off your instructions to do so. Considering my $30 homedepot special blew apart in a mere few hours. Basically $300 Canadian pesos.

  35. Andrew Checkley on January 17, 2022 at 11:29 pm

should be called The Stoned Carpenter.

  36. Rolling Stone on January 17, 2022 at 11:30 pm

    Get a room 😂

  37. gary may on January 17, 2022 at 11:31 pm

the finest block plane ever made is the stanley 118. This one’s OK til you drop it, then it’s toast.

  38. ANHAD BANI NR on January 17, 2022 at 11:31 pm

    How can i buy

  39. Phil Stevens on January 17, 2022 at 11:31 pm

How about a breakdown of it and your take on why it’s better than for example the Veritas and others? Why should I add it to the top of my list? What is the benefit of a rabbiting block plane or should I say "rebating block plane" rather than a standard block plane, etc, etc. I’m not gonna buy it just because you say. Show me why!

  40. TyronePatOne on January 17, 2022 at 11:32 pm

A rabbit is a furry hopping animal. Rebate is the word your looking for, stop calling rebates rabbits! ffs

  41. Jeff Hildreth on January 17, 2022 at 11:33 pm

A Stanley low angle with an adjustable throat, properly tuned , will do very fine work.

  42. Robert Black on January 17, 2022 at 11:34 pm

Jesse, Stop spending my money. I’m got so many tools I’m eating my dinner with a ryoba saw.

  43. MrPaulTheG on January 17, 2022 at 11:35 pm

I like the baseboard – drywall example. I kinda ruined my drywall doing exactly that without this block plane. So I can relate 😀

  44. Ed on January 17, 2022 at 11:35 pm

MAn this guy is fucking creepy

  45. Stefan on January 17, 2022 at 11:35 pm

Just got one for my birthday!

  46. paul Smith on January 17, 2022 at 11:37 pm

Everywhere I have looked is sold out of Lie-Nielsen tools. You would think the high prices would prohibit sales. It seams in lock down everybody and their dog is buying posh tools.

  47. Devon C on January 17, 2022 at 11:39 pm

I miss these videos so much has changed ever sense the whole makers mob change over. Miss your humor Jessie! Hope all is well.

  48. tonywwp on January 17, 2022 at 11:40 pm

I love my block plane as well. It’s awesome! Thank you Lie Nielsen

  49. A T H Mostafa on January 17, 2022 at 11:40 pm

I just bought one , may ask what angle do u sharp it ?? 🤔

  50. labrat7357 on January 17, 2022 at 11:41 pm

From what I’ve seen on the Lie Nielsen videos their spokes persons have a good grasp of not only English but also of reality. They tend not to make playground sounds during the presentation and generally act as if they are presenting to adults with an interest in woodworking and not trying to impress preteens during lunch time. I really do not see you as the face of Lie Nielsen.
