Black & Decker Navigator SC500 Power Handsaw/Jigsaw/Hacksaw

Black & Decker Navigator SC500 Power Handsaw/Jigsaw/Hacksaw

Video review of the Black & Decker SC500 saw. I’ve been looking for a all purpose household power saw that can do everything, thus making a cheap replacement for all other saws, such as chainsaw, circular saw, table saw, jigsaw, and reciprocating saw. This power handsaw can do most of the job as an all-around tool, without costing too much money. It’s corded, with interchangeable hacksaw blade, jigsaw blade, and metal cutting blade. Overall a very useful tool. This video will show you the operations, how to change the blade, etc.

Couldn’t get the blade in until the demo showed that you needed to have the nut in the vertical position for the blade to connect – Big thanks!

It’s a crappy jigsaw and a scrappy handsaw.

Out of all the videos and instructions online this was the best one to explain what happens when the pivot pin is not in the right direction and you cannot load the blade. Thank you! That small subtlety save me from throwing it in the trash. ๐Ÿ™‚

I searched and watched three other videos before this one and loved your explanation! Thank you!

You should learn how the product works before you make the video, lots of fiddling

If only the screwdriver would turn it. It doesn’t budge

Thank you for showing me how to turn the saw attachment with a screwdriver. I borrowed the saw off my friend and needed to change to the metal blade. I had watched other demonstrations that had made it look so easy but I couldn’t do it until you showed me that you could twist it. Thank you so much : )

I canโ€™t remove the blade and you went too fast.

Thankyou so much, This is the only video I could find that tells you how to use the jigsaw blade!

Thanks for the help with the blade. I purchased this at a garage sale and the pin was sideways. Thanks!

So to get the blade in, the locking pin has to be in the horizontal position to seat the blade over it perpendicular to the saw, and then pivot the blade upright to lock it in. You cannot seat the blade if the locking pin is currently in final position. In that instance, you’ll have to press down hard on the button and use a Flathead screwdriver to rotate it manually.
