The light, smaller size and better guide are worth the extra money unless your tools get beat up or stolen.

  2. Derek Tabor on March 25, 2023 at 8:03 am

Thank you. Interesting that blade deflection in your test cuts was equivalent between models, despite the newer model having dual blade guides. Reduced weight and barrel circumference suggest newer model would be better suited to extended use – have you had an opportunity to compare these aspects?

Thanks for a needed review.. Handyman-470 , pro heavy user -572. I was already to buy the Festool , was up to 8-900$ with all gadgets. Standard base doesnt bevel. They make some thick still blades that will fit Bosch as well. For my high end work the extra for the 572 is minor esp. compared to the Festool i almost got.
After 45 years in the trades I have most brands of tools, each brand has their strong tool.No Festools for me yet. Almost bought their euro Swordsaw, precise chainsaw.
No one is stocking the 572 locally. Home Depot order-$220.

Excellent review! It was very detailed and easy to understand.

Great review, thank you!! The upgrades are excellent but I just don’t think I could justify the price difference, especially for a jigsaw which really gets limited use compared to other tools…

That’a a brilliant thorough review. It’s so good to see someone show precisely what we need to see.

    Nice ! Thanks for share!!

At 5:59 – Thank you. This is perhaps the most important bit of information and I have found that all other reviews I’ve watched have omitted this information.

*Works great. For the price this thing is awesome **MyBest.Tools** Rips through plywood no problem. The quick release mechanism to put in blades is great too – very fast and secure.*

Does the bigger range in the variable speed make a difference?

  14. 🇷🇺Andrei on March 25, 2023 at 8:29 am

Buy once, cry once. Get the 572

  15. baletashakur on March 25, 2023 at 8:30 am

They are almost the same price now. The 572 is only $33 more than the 470. I think the 572 is worth it. You get LED lights, more powerful motor, less weight, less bulky, better guide roller, tool-free base plate adjustment.

  16. Adrian Szostek on March 25, 2023 at 8:34 am

The only thing you didn’t say Radek is was it worth the extra money for the newer model. I’m having this dilemma currently, I bought the older model but am reconsidering my decision.

Thank you for your time in making this very detailed and useful review. You answered all the questions I had in regard to these saws. I wish you many fulfilling years in the future perfecting your craft!

Excellent review!!! Really detailed. Absolutely helped me make the decision to buy the JS572EB(K). The one at Home Depot has a K at the end. Thanks so much:)👍

  19. Dana Rouleau on March 25, 2023 at 8:37 am

With the blade deflection being basically the same, there’s really no reason to get the newer model unless you need/want LED lights – glad I just ordered the 470EB on sale

  20. jt on March 25, 2023 at 8:38 am

After viewing your video I purchased the js470eb. Great machine. Very solid unit. Thanks for taking the time to produce this excellent review

  21. Sean MacDonald on March 25, 2023 at 8:39 am

Jigsaw is my entry level skill point. Still learning.

  22. haarnoz on March 25, 2023 at 8:41 am

Great video! Thanks for the detailed comparison.
I do have a question though. At the end of the video, you say that the deflection is about 5mm.
Did you mean that your cut was 5mm away from the line you wanted to cut
or that when making the cuts, the blade was deflected/pushed – making the cut not perpendicular/square?

  23. Mr. Teff on March 25, 2023 at 8:42 am

Good review. But the video ended suddenly without a conclusion. Clearly, the newer saw is improved, but is it worth an extra $99? That question was not answered.

  24. Barry Wuthrich on March 25, 2023 at 8:43 am

    very good. thanks!!

    Nice Review Radek!

Barrel handle is difficult to use because you certainly must use both hands all the time regardless of anything. > most of my colleague sold back after a week purchasing

  27. terry mise on March 25, 2023 at 8:48 am

I’m not going to be using it in the dark so don’t need the headlights. Being how the 470 is heavier, should make it easier to guide. My 470 should be here tomorrow!

IS JIG SAW MADE IN SWITZERLAND?

Appreciate this review. I am in this predicament right now. This helps a ton. Thank you!

  32. CaseAgainstFaith1 on March 25, 2023 at 8:52 am

I saw on some Festool user forums that a lot of Festool users actually prefer the Bosch JS572EB over Festool jigsaws! Now, Festool users are used to spending tons of money on tools, so, they didn’t even mention the 470. Some other users mentioned the Mafell P1cc jigsaw. It is like 2 or 3 times the price of a 572, but, a rather amazing device. Check it out.

Thank you. This type of tool review is extremely useful. To the point and all areas covered.
