I enjoyed watching your video. Not only did I appreciate your craftsmanship, I really appreciate your video editing abilities. Well done.

  4. Carol Vanessa Leiva on January 11, 2022 at 8:52 pm

What would you estimate a price range for this kind of project would be?

  5. Jonathan Righetti on January 11, 2022 at 8:55 pm

this is how they drop lumber, I was run over by a car on the job I was on and the home owner thought it was the lumber getting dropped off hahahaha not me being a human speed bump hahahahaha

  6. Coolcat McFat on January 11, 2022 at 8:56 pm

Really wish I had the space and knowledge to do this. Very impressive!

Also the edits were a great touch 😂

Back when I had dark hair (and more hair), such as the late 70s early 80s, I worked construction, and unless you have a forklift that is exactly how they deliver lumber. Tilt the bed and let it all slide off. Fortunately for you, it does not seem that much of any lumber was damaged. Glad I don’t do construction anymore. I do like my garage shop though.
Meanwhile, thanks for sharing this most excellent project with us all. As a follow-up to this (if you have not already done it), I would be interested in a lessons learned session about what you wished you would have done (or not done) or even what you wish what should have been included but left out. This is really ambitious and worthwhile.

At 31 minutes when you guys were raising the top wall portion if you screw in 2×6 braces up right along that wall you can raise that section right up against them it works great

  14. zach peterson on January 11, 2022 at 9:03 pm

What did this cost total? I like

  15. Colin Bowman on January 11, 2022 at 9:03 pm

I much enjoyed the video. You’re a very hard worker. Lovely setting and landscape. The sense of community was nice. Great job in bringing up your children; space, freedom, things being done. Inspiring going on throughout.

If you put more batons across the roof beams you could have walked all over roof..

  19. Samcraft on January 11, 2022 at 9:06 pm

I appreciate everyone watching and seeing how I built my workshop! As of this writing my shed has been standing as-built for nearly 4 years and has been great. Is it perfect? No! But it’s worked great for my needs and been plenty strong enough through snow, hurricane winds, torrential rains, and limbs dropping from trees. Is this a how to? *NO! This is how I built my workshop and is meant to inspire you or be fun to watch.* Thanks for watching! -Sam

Good shop for people like me on a budget

  21. Mary McLean on January 11, 2022 at 9:07 pm

Gosh that fisheye lens is horrible. So disconcerting. It makes me giddy and nauseaus! Otherwise a great video.

    Good job from the UK

  23. lebite on January 11, 2022 at 9:09 pm

Nice to see all lumber droppers are jerks.

  24. Anthony Wyche on January 11, 2022 at 9:12 pm

Don’t you think that you need to put some hurricane brackets on your roof so that it will not blow 3 miles away?

  25. Rod Decker on January 11, 2022 at 9:13 pm

Great video, thanks for posting. I’ve been thinking about making one of a similar size and it’s nice to be reminded of the logistics and timing of one of this size. What size members did you use for the roof rafters?

  26. Robert Neilitz on January 11, 2022 at 9:15 pm

why not a door between the storage sidw and workshop ?

  27. Les Duenas on January 11, 2022 at 9:18 pm

So far good job. Where Josh was putting on is called a top plate tying the walls together. Keep pushing on.

  28. Toolman1 D on January 11, 2022 at 9:21 pm

Great job. Enjoyed the build. Yes its a lot of work but you did it. Praise God.

  29. sam hill on January 11, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Interesting nuild. Hey what kind of tractor you got. An old Cub Cadet International? Good looking rig. Like the ammo can tool boxes on the rear shelf.

Hello from TEXAS! I know all about the heat lol! Nice workshop, looks to me like you’ve done a good job up to this point! So stay cool and keep up the videos Appalachia! CHEERS

  32. Lawrence Ashworth on January 11, 2022 at 9:28 pm

Why did you build it so far down the hill?

  33. Seth G. on January 11, 2022 at 9:30 pm

Eventually I would replace those shed doors with a roll up door or French doors becuase over time they will start to droop

  34. Rob Gor on January 11, 2022 at 9:30 pm

I would be wearing some gloves when handling those roof sheets, you could some real serious damage with them.

  35. Eurostar coin hunting on January 11, 2022 at 9:30 pm

    That delivery was a fiasco

  36. Habu 71 on January 11, 2022 at 9:36 pm

The title says FULL BUILD but you lost the footage for the three walls. I would like my money back please. 😉

  37. Jimbo Telegraphis on January 11, 2022 at 9:36 pm

I just built a work shop for Wood Carving. I make everything. I used 2x6x10 for walls and a 12/12 pitch roof. I have a rope on one side that I use to test new climbing equipment and climbing gear. It’s awesome

  38. Ben Gunderson on January 11, 2022 at 9:38 pm

Would’ve put some windows in to see that beautiful yard! Nicely done though

  39. William Clark on January 11, 2022 at 9:38 pm

Very cool. I used to live in North Carolina, lived there a few times. I was stationed (4 times) at Camp Lejeune, NC (2d Marine Division) and my last time in NC, I was at Cherry Point (2d Marine Air Wing) in 2005). Now exactly sure where you’re located. Haven’t been back to NC in years though. I’m about to buy my first house and plan to build my own shop on there. I LOVE this video man. Awesome job and you help inspire a jarhead like to go to out and do this too. MUCH respect.

  40. Les Duenas on January 11, 2022 at 9:40 pm

When I did my a shed, I found it easier to put the siding on then cut in place. Also on your roofing panels it didn’t seem you had nothing to screw the joint to but I had sheets plywood on my roof so I just screwed my metal roof sheets of plywood. Keep on, if it works for you, good for you.

You said it was 87 degrees, can I get some context to that what was the humidity at? I live in the California desert and we hit 122 but no humidity. Great job Sam.

Sam, I like listening to you. You are funny, and make me chuckle, but your voice is also soothing. You could read bedtime stories for Calm.

  47. james humphrey on January 11, 2022 at 9:47 pm

I have a question. How would I know that those 4 x4’s and beams would hold all that weight? I trust you know what your doing I just don’t understand it. Email me jhumphrey1026@gmail.com

  48. iwantosavemoney on January 11, 2022 at 9:47 pm

Wood is so expensive these days is it cheaper and faster to do concrete these days I would think so even tho I have not done the math.

  49. Mary McLean on January 11, 2022 at 9:47 pm

Nice. Thanks. I’m about to build a shed, 5mtrs long…(16 feet…ish) X 4 mtrs (a bit over 13 feet wide) 208 feet square, in a country that uses thermal blocks and cement rendering for everything. So I have to brush up on timber construction, as I have about 36 sq mtrs or about 400 sq feet of relatively new fencing boards, I used as a wooden flooring experiment…which they don’t do over here either! I have to teach the guys how to build wall panels like you did, raise them up etc etc. then get them to lay the floor in my used timber and then use the rest as wall covering for the back and sides. Perhaps, there will be enough as I have some old, but good condition, big 3 foot square, double glazed windows here to help fill in the walls too and an almost 5ft 9inch high and over 3ft.6 inch wide set of double glazed windows, opening like a door, complete with lock…so they will become a nice fat doorway for the cement mixer, compressor, wheelbarrow, small hand trailer etc… The fisheye lens mate, is not good! but the build was great, thanks again.
