Log mule seems a notch or 10 above survival level.

  6. arboristBlairGlenn on September 11, 2023 at 7:27 pm

It seemed ironic to pick up a modern chainsaw at the end of all that old school woodworking

  7. banq0o on September 11, 2023 at 7:28 pm

  12. Nick Stabile on September 11, 2023 at 7:35 pm

Years ago when I lived out in vermont I made one out of 2x4s and 4x4s….nice little trick doing it with green wood.

  13. Ron Beric on September 11, 2023 at 7:37 pm

This is how you do something really simple of something what would likely be hard. Remembers me about Hyezmar’s woodworking plan which can be found online, have a good one!

  16. Heath Dawson on September 11, 2023 at 7:42 pm

Hey guys, that’s not me with the chainsaw at the end…

  17. Christophe Berton on September 11, 2023 at 7:42 pm

you did cut the sticks in the middle too short, they could have helped you when pulling the rope, now your block of wood touches the ground.

  18. YouTubeCertified on September 11, 2023 at 7:42 pm

I enjoyed the vid. The irony though, all that work with no power tools & then you pull out a gas chain saw at the end. LOL

  19. Will Powderly on September 11, 2023 at 7:43 pm

Great video, enjoyed watching that come to life. What’s the structure in the background?

  20. r. michael wilensky on September 11, 2023 at 7:44 pm

What diameter auger bit did you choose to use? Thanks

  21. Rick Wall on September 11, 2023 at 7:46 pm

    "green-woodworking tools"…  then fires up the 2-stroke chainsaw.   😉

    good job, though.

  22. TheGrayman1234 on September 11, 2023 at 7:46 pm

Never heard of a log mule. Wow. Very simple yet efficient design. love it. Will build one when I start to clear off land again. Cool.

  23. Elkhart Timmons on September 11, 2023 at 7:47 pm

Nice little build. I’ve been thinking over building a few of these for some upcoming projects, and was happy to see the way you approached it. Might want to wedge the tenons next time to prevent the legs from loosening as the wood dries.

  24. TheFishooks on September 11, 2023 at 7:48 pm

Good job ,nobody can do without a good drawknife.

  25. bearwoodcarpentry on September 11, 2023 at 7:50 pm

Do you have a Froe for splitting and a wooden mallet? Beats a wedge hands down, nice vid

  26. Carla Pickering on September 11, 2023 at 7:50 pm

need to make a carving bench. the muscle deep gouge shaped gash in my palm says so. lesson learned.

  27. Lap board on September 11, 2023 at 7:51 pm

Terrific video and great banjo too!

  28. Jason Lloyd on September 11, 2023 at 7:53 pm

    What width is that auger?

  29. Heath Dawson on September 11, 2023 at 7:55 pm

add a good old-fashioned brace and sharp bits and you can tackle all manner of jobs.

  30. Kurt Thomas on September 11, 2023 at 7:56 pm

Where abouts did you get your drill bit from?

  31. MrLeonard55 on September 11, 2023 at 7:57 pm

What kind of wood is it?

  32. Heath Dawson on September 11, 2023 at 7:57 pm

    Not you.

  33. Demo Niq on September 11, 2023 at 7:58 pm

I like how you have a chainsaw but don’t have a powerdrill

  34. standswithfish on September 11, 2023 at 7:59 pm

What, no bucksaw mate? 😁 nice project!

  35. Brian on September 11, 2023 at 8:00 pm

    great project!

  36. Heath Dawson on September 11, 2023 at 8:01 pm

I’ve found that the advantage of it is that you can section wood with a chainsaw whilst its on the mule. You can’t do that with a metal log holder for fear of wrecking the chain or worse.

  37. Tina M. Workman on September 11, 2023 at 8:01 pm

It will save you thousands of dollars on woodwork project if you have the in depth woodwork system.

  38. Константин Д. on September 11, 2023 at 8:02 pm

Ловко! Руки из правильного места выросли.

  39. Joseph Mansfield on September 11, 2023 at 8:04 pm

hello, what size is the tang on your large auger bit? I have picked up a 1 1/2" bit but it’s 1/2" tang won’t fit in my brace drill chuck

  40. Glenn Koenig on September 11, 2023 at 8:05 pm

so how do you calculate the angels to drill and cut at?

  41. Survival Mindset on September 11, 2023 at 8:07 pm
