Making a ‘Log Mule’, similar to a saw horse, to aid the sectioning of timber. Constructed by Heath from Ash and Hazel using green-woodworking hand tools.
Log mule seems a notch or 10 above survival level.
Great vid! I like contemplating earth, discover and relax…
all good.
Would it be stable enough to use a handsaw?
Nicely done! Thanks for sharing…
It seemed ironic to pick up a modern chainsaw at the end of all that old school woodworking
respect! 😎
Gracias desde el norte de España!
no
love the soundtrack!
1 to 2"auger bit
Years ago when I lived out in vermont I made one out of 2x4s and 4x4s….nice little trick doing it with green wood.
This is how you do something really simple of something what would likely be hard. Remembers me about Hyezmar’s woodworking plan which can be found online, have a good one!
Thank you for your inspiring video!
Im inspired!! Thank you!!
Hey guys, that’s not me with the chainsaw at the end…
you did cut the sticks in the middle too short, they could have helped you when pulling the rope, now your block of wood touches the ground.
I enjoyed the vid. The irony though, all that work with no power tools & then you pull out a gas chain saw at the end. LOL
Great video, enjoyed watching that come to life. What’s the structure in the background?
What diameter auger bit did you choose to use? Thanks
"green-woodworking tools"… then fires up the 2-stroke chainsaw. 😉
good job, though.
Never heard of a log mule. Wow. Very simple yet efficient design. love it. Will build one when I start to clear off land again. Cool.
Nice little build. I’ve been thinking over building a few of these for some upcoming projects, and was happy to see the way you approached it. Might want to wedge the tenons next time to prevent the legs from loosening as the wood dries.
Good job ,nobody can do without a good drawknife.
Do you have a Froe for splitting and a wooden mallet? Beats a wedge hands down, nice vid
need to make a carving bench. the muscle deep gouge shaped gash in my palm says so. lesson learned.
Terrific video and great banjo too!
What width is that auger?
add a good old-fashioned brace and sharp bits and you can tackle all manner of jobs.
Where abouts did you get your drill bit from?
What kind of wood is it?
Not you.
I like how you have a chainsaw but don’t have a powerdrill
What, no bucksaw mate? 😁 nice project!
great project!
I’ve found that the advantage of it is that you can section wood with a chainsaw whilst its on the mule. You can’t do that with a metal log holder for fear of wrecking the chain or worse.
It will save you thousands of dollars on woodwork project if you have the in depth woodwork system.
Ловко! Руки из правильного места выросли.
hello, what size is the tang on your large auger bit? I have picked up a 1 1/2" bit but it’s 1/2" tang won’t fit in my brace drill chuck
so how do you calculate the angels to drill and cut at?
Great video!
*★☞On the off chance that you are a woodwork fan, and would need to get the best manual for your work. I will urge you to go for this very shed plan [Check Details Here ==**https://plus.google.com/u/0/109305854848533008884/posts/j4qp7C9WysA** ].. The rewards are additionally phenomenal. I’ve not seen a very much characterized and point by point bundle. It’s stunning!*
Way better than the sawhorse I’m trying to use. Thanks!
wow bravo. loved the video now that’s talent. and awsome channel. I subscribed to your channel would love to have your support as well. keep up the good work
Ash (Fraxinus Excelsior)
love the soundtrack!
I wrote down this YouTube video like 18 months ago. And By Golly here I am. I’m your NEWEST sub!!
See ya again Friend!!
What’s that thing he used for drilling those holes?
interesting construction in background 😎
