In a real site you would have a sliding miter saw and have this done stupid fast.

I wish it was harder to get onto site for unqualified staff. On my site qualifications, saftey tickets or ability to speak English isn’t necessary.

I did an 8 week course to get a lv2 city and guilds diploma in site carpentry with access training. All i need to do is gain employment then complete 6 assesments in order to get the nvq lv2. I have to film myself doing it.
Problem is, I CANT GET EMPLOYMENT WITHOUT A FUCKING QUALIFICATION!

    PAYED 4.5K aswell.

I am mister jalu India.do you want to import carpenter export from India

  9. Dano McAuley on August 14, 2022 at 11:16 pm

I am interested in the details of your training rigs. Do you have plans or better images you may provide? Of course, in contrast to many that have posted here, I am a true fan in the formal instruction for those interested in obtaining a career in the trades. These people should be thanking you for sending someone out there who has an understanding of what is being asked. Proficiency comes with time but, most business owners do not want to take the time train anyone theses days. Time is money, tools are money, and materials are money; not to mention the soft skills of what it takes to just, "be a responsible employee", either. Thank you for you post; I hope that you can help me with my request as well.

Why are a bunch of Americans watching a video of a British training scheme and commenting on why you wouldn’t need to do it in the US? I did a similar scheme in the UK 35 years ago and it’s kept me employed ever since.

This video was done in 2014 and there’s no air or power tools???

  27. TheClougherna on August 14, 2022 at 11:37 pm

All the qualifications in the world won’t make you a good carpenter. You need good work ethic and most of all you need good hands.you can tell by the age of 10 if a kid is gifted at working with their hands.usually people from a farming background make better tradesmen.

  28. Francisco M. on August 14, 2022 at 11:37 pm

Proper PPE was not used in the beginning of the video

  29. istyak milad on August 14, 2022 at 11:38 pm

    good company,,,, am all carpenter

  30. zilla on August 14, 2022 at 11:40 pm

Why the fuck is it so difficult to get anywhere in life when everything you want to do is bad? Getting into an apprenticeship, bad. Learning from a company, bad. So which one is it then? Or is being a carpenter pointless? I don’t want to go to college but something tells me that it seems like a smarter approach if you choose something that is highly employable.

  31. Lan Anh on August 14, 2022 at 11:44 pm

*Extremely detailed and clear directions **Allmy.Tips** I accept even a child could design a shed using this shed plan. It spares you lots of time while building. What’s more, the cost is mind blowing. I am excited!*

  44. Polemistís Arcturus on August 14, 2022 at 11:50 pm

Based on the fact I see almost no powered tools or any typical jobsite equipment, I’m assuming at "graduation" your handed some overalls, a straw hat, and a corncob pipe?..

  50. Alex G on August 14, 2022 at 11:59 pm

Shocking to think that hanging a door or fitting a mortice latch/latch set is considered being a craftsperson and that it is even on a FINAL test after 4 years of training. 4 years is supposed to be an Honors degree standard equivalent. This is laughable. The only decent part of the final test was the canopy. No wonder true carpentry skills are Dead.
