While working from home over the past few months, the iPad Pro has become an essential part of my daily life. As I explored more ways to use this awesome device for more tasks, I came across an app called Shapr3D. This app is a game-changer for me and has become my favorite CAD program to use for furniture design.

Watching Harry Potter while working? 🤘
Shapr3D run in ipad 7 ?
Wow! Thanks so much for putting this together. I’ve just recently retired and am finally getting time in the shop to start building again. I have all the same issues you have with paper/pencil and having to sit at the desk to draw designs. Love the idea of being able to do this on the iPad. This product seems to have more tools in the dimensioning area that a woodworker would love. I’m downloading it now. I hope the Free version will get me started. Wondering how you deal with it only allowing 2 designs? Guess we’ll see. Thanks again.
I’m the sort of person that get scared by the thought of CAD but hopefully this will make things easier for me
You worked very hard on this video series. I appreciate it and I hope your other viewers do as well. Of fingers crossed… advertisements. Good luck
Do you have recomendation apps 3d design for 1time purcase..?
I am sure you will find a good way to do this on the Woodprix website.

I was actually like, what?
Did he read my mind
Does this app only work on the iPad Pro or does it work with other models too?
I was afraid of drawing 3D but after watching your video, it gave me strength to try out this particular app on iPad.
Is the program free?
I need to convince my teacher that house design is better and faster on tablet , this will help so much to explain.
Is this app able to communicate with CAM programs? I use a cnc plasma and router and would like to ramp up my design.
Can your render with it?
Excellent video, and thank you for explaining how the app benefits your workflow.
I’m worn out trying to get AutoCAD for iPad and Adobe CAD to do what I want them to do… they really really suck and free flowing curves and limit me soooo much! Augh! 🙁
Do I seem frustrated? LOL
I thought it was just a gimmicky toy, but now I’m going to give Shaper 3D a try and see if I can design a new knife and sheath in less time and less headaches.
Thank you again for the motivation!
Yes…draw it out and just throw away. that is so funny
You spent 8:15 mins wagging your tongue before actually doing a demo.
Which CAD software you used on your computer for furniture designing?
You’re very lucky to have this technology. When I began doing drafting (1977), CAD wasn’t yet available. I didn’t start using CAD until 1989, with Autocad 3.1. I now have SketchUp on my iPad. I also have Shapr 3D, though I don’t currently have it installed. Maybe, with your tutorials, I’ll reinstall it. 🙂
I’m designing a roof for my wood deck, and this app looks just right for me. I did some restoration to my 10 year old deck. The location is complicated, so the roof needs to be designed carefully. Thanks for making this video. I have the new iPad Air 4th generation. I can’t afford the Apple Pencil. Do you have a recommendation for a less expensive pencil?
без деталировки, не вижу смысла платить
I have a question and I’m hoping someone in here can help me. I am wanting to start furniture flipping, I am looking for an app where I can take a photo of existing furniture in my shop and edit the color, hardware, and add on designs so that I can make renderings for my clients
But most of the best ipad apps need subcription paymen..not one time purchase 🥴
Thats it. Im buying an ipad.
I really want the iPad mini for work and browsing but I also want to use it for wood projects I do. What are your thoughts about doing this on an iPad mini. Would it still have ease of use or should I just go with the iPad Pro for the bigger screen?
Just got my new iPad mini so glad I found this video.
I really appreciate the introduction this is just what I was looking for.
So am I correct that the free version only lets you locally store two projects at any time? And to save more you have to render them down to low quality images? Basically like a photoshop that can store two .psd in the program (not as files) and save everything else as low quality .jpg?
That seems completely non functional. That’s not viable software even for a hobbyist. That’s a demo. Literally a demo. And that’s fine. Nobody owes me affordable hobbyist 3D design software.
So the actual software is just expensive eternal payment pro level business software. I wish I had a successful business so my customers could pay for my hobby.
Where buy this pencil?
Amazing videos 👍
Is that app is free?
TBH, @9:01 I hit subscribe
new to Apple products. This video very helpful in choosing a Cadd program. Thanks.
Too much philosophical reasoning and talk about why you need the app and not enough just getting to the point and showing what the app can do. Just get to the point, I’m busy! 🙂
Hi! Congratulations, great video, you inspire people! My question is does this work also with Apple Air 4?
Thank you huge help
Супер! спасибо вам большое. теперь тоже так буду проектировать мебель
I like the skin of your Apple Pen. How to get it?
…. Now to get a new IPad Pro with the pencil !! 😅. It looks awesome to use. Thanks for your thought process and clear explanation. The app owners should be paying you. One more thing, apart from the colours differentiation I saw in your other video on the paid version. Could you further explain more features on the paid version? Thanks 🙏 😘
Thank you! It’s really helpful!
this is the first time ive ever heard about u, but based on how u started this video i just wanna say screw anyone that hates on you for making review videos lol u a legend for this video tho , so detailed and well explained. good stuff 👌🏼
Thanks for this. I only just discovered this app and after seeing this I can see it works how I want/need it to work.
You should try a wireless trackball. Logitech have a great option (MX Ergo, I think).
This program is not avaible on android?
I like this app. The only thing I find as a drawback is that the paid version is subscription based which I detest. But I guess for professionals who are making money from it, I think it’s a very useful powerful app.
You just took go slow maybe I understand something
Thank man. Very informative. I have similar problem like you when it comes down to design on paper. I will give the app a try.
I have migrated to Shapr3d for Windows on my Wacom not just for 3d printing (& some day my own CNC), but for making 1:12 miniature furniture in cardstock, etc… on my Cricut Maker… the layout ability helps make efficient use of arranging my pieces on my cardstock. It was watching you & your beautiful furniture that turned up my light bulb.
Is there a soften rounden degrees and corners feature in this app?
great video – you have an awesome natural enthusiastic presentation style – thanks – will try the free version for sure !
