Dewalt Cordless D-Handle and Barrel Grip Jigsaws 20v Review
Dewalt Cordless D-Handle and Barrel Grip Jigsaws 20v Review
This is an unpaid review of the Dewalt cordless D Handle and Barrel Grip XR Jigsaws.
20V D Handle Jigsaw Model DCS334B
20V Barrel Grip Jigsaw Model DCS335B
Both 20V MAX* XR® Cordless Jig Saws features an efficient motor for powerful performance and extreme runtime. Precisely control blade speed up to 3,200 spm with variable speed, for professional results no matter what you’re cutting. 4-position orbital action lets you adjust for optimal cutting of a variety of materials. A bright LED light illuminates dim work surfaces and makes it easy to follow cut lines. The updated all-metal, lever-action keyless blade clamp is designed for quick and easy blade changes of t-shank jig saw blades. Also keyless, the shoe bevel is easy to adjust with detents at 0°, 15°, 30°, and a positive stop at 45°. A removable shoe cover helps protect materials from scratches, and an integrated dust blower helps remove dust and debris from your line of sight as you cut.
Each saw is better at different tasks, and is made with different cutting in mind.

*Works great. For the price this thing is awesome **MyBest.Tools** Rips through plywood no problem. The quick release mechanism to put in blades is great too – very fast and secure.*
Nice. Having a cord hang up while scroll cutting can destroy a piece of wood, besides being a huge hassle.
Very good review, however, could you tell me which of the two saws is more powerful? Thanks in advance
I have the Dewalt Barrel grip and I like how it cuts, but I really hate the on/off switch as its difficult to switch it.
Thx. Im a lefty. Glad i bought the D. -U10
I use a d handle for rough and a barrel grip for fine. Also the barrel grip is much better for cutting insulation boards, far less wander. As for comments about having a variable speed trigger on a barrel grip, must be from amateurs who haven’t used one.
Thanks, good info. I’ve never used a barrel grip. I like the idea of more accurate, tighter turns. Too bad dewalt didn’t make the barrel grip with a variable speed trigger. That’s enough to make me get the D handle.
Excellent comparison- thank you. Variable speed trigger sold me between the two. I like the idea of letting go and having the tool STOP.
BLESSED BE THE BARREL GRIP
Hi, the black handle you push(2.50) I am finding it very stiff it will not go go forward at all, did you have the same issue at the start?
you forgot to mention scribing , probably easier so you can cut upside down . Have you tried with a 2 oh battery? how long do you think it would last before it cuts out of power?
На 335 колесо регулятора оборотов находится прямо под пальцем,его можно переключить даже не заметив этого,а ещё нет кнопки как на334(хотя это спорно,ибо можно так на дальние расстояния пилить)
Fantastic video, straight to the point, informative and not begging for sub. You’re a blessing.
My d handle has been superceded by a Hacksall.
I have both they both have there place!
Excellent comparison, first review that I have seen that actually discusses the pros and cons of each type of grip, Thank You.
I bought the barrel grip and I love it. Had a couple d handle ones of other brands and I never really liked the feel. Barrel handle makes me feel a lot more in control of what’s going on when I’m making really precise cuts. Would never go back to a d handle
I got the D handle version myself and love it quite a bit, but this video’s been highly informative anyway! Thanks!
