DIY Block Plane Chamfer Jig | FAIL!

I set out to make a chamfer jig for my block plane. It was not a success. Oh well. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Failure is the best teacher, even though it hurts sometime but this is how we gain experience! If I finished a project without making any mistakes I start questioning my self! What did I learn? And that what makes me worried the most! No pain no gain mate! thank you for publishing this!great lesson indeed 🤝

Your videos are my favorite in the maker/woodworking realm, simple videos documenting work and learning with hand tools. Inspirational to watch, makes me want to run out to my shop every time I watch one.

Haha ouch, I felt that… ‘what have I done?’ moment. Thanks for sharing this 🙂

Im a beginning woodworking and most of my mistakes come from going too fast. Just yesterday I had one plane stroke left to go on a piece and – not paying sufficient attention, I put it in the vice the wrong way around and planed right against the grain on my finished face side 🙈 makes your heart sink. Luckily a lot can be fixed..

    No mistakes, only happy accidents?

Man I know exactly that feeling! I tend to curse a bit more when I do it though
