I made an easy and simple jigsaw guide made out of timber. It doesn’t cost much and you’ll only need a jigsaw and some additional material (see below) to build it. The jigsaw guide is great for straight shortcuts. Portable and perfect for cutting small pieces of wood and timber. You will need only a few things to make this homemade DIY tool – timber, wing nut, bolt, wood screws. Watch the entire video for a step-by-step guide on how to make this DIY tool.

DONT THROW AWAY PIECES OF WOOD | DIY SIMPLE JIG SAW GUIDE

Easy Jigsaw Guide for Your Workshop

I started out by cutting the timber – 2 straight pieces (40cm) for the base, 2 pieces (30cm+) for the cutting part (leave a bit more and cut the excess afterward), and 1 for fixing the base. Fixed the wood pieces together (as shown in the video) – take care while doing so to secure right angles. Drilled a hole in one piece and fixed it to the base with a bolt and a wing nut. I cut out the wood excess to create a guide for the jig saw. Simple but great idea for diytools.

I think a better solution would be to make the jigsaw move within a guide.
Right now, you are still at mercy of your hand to get the straight cut. It will be a matter of time before accidently cutting/chipping off your guide wood pieces, IMO

hi, I replicated the same but it doesn’t work !!! the piece I try to cut moves and comes out of the clamp! why? 🙁

There’s an ice cream truck parked outside my house, so that’s the background music I had for this video lol.

Really useful video, simple and easy to follow, thank you!

Guides made from wood can easily warp with time and abuse.

Hey quick question, I subscribed for the restorations. Plans on making any more of those, or should I just unsubscribe? Nothing wrong with the content btw, just that I’m not interested in woodworking.
