Hi, I’m from Michigan. Yes I am a woodworker mostly wooden boats, build and restore. Love watching you complicate your projects. Beautiful work!
Nick, Been doing carpentry, woodworking ( cabinets/boxes hopefully furniture before i die..LOL!) Was a psychologist now woodworker. Subscriber from southern MN. Unless you’re a maker or an oid timer on YouTube I’m thinking you are doing well. You have a great persona and your work holds my interest. I use other work for inspiration and ideas toward my own designs. May the force be with you!
Dunn, NC. Do woodworking, too, and I like watching others work to keep myself focused.
obligatory subscriber comment from Missouri.
I[m watching this video again cuz I just can’t quit you! I’m a geezer professional woodworker and mostly retired general contractor from western Massachusetts (on the New York State border). I enjoy the way you design on the fly, after working out a very general idea. You’re not the kind of maker who obsesses about your sketchup model–rather, you just right in to working with wood! You seem to use the material you’re working with to suggest the details of the piece–a nice Krenovian esthetic, even though your work is not especially derivative of his style. Also you have a nice whimsical sense of improv and an excellent sense of line and color. I also really admire your technical skills, honed–no doubt–by years of trial and error.
Good job
Wood turner, subscribed and the biggest arms in Milwaukie Oregon.
Hey, I’m also in Portland (technically Milwaukie) and am slowly getting into woodworking, turning our garage into a little shop. I mostly want to develop skills to improve things in our home and build a few custom pieces to fit some unique spaces (kind of like your cherry desk in the bay window build). I follow lots of makers, found you recently and really enjoy your attention to detail. I don’t know if I’ll ever get into fine woodworking like yourself, but it’s honestly all the more reason I enjoy watching it. Enjoyable to see someone with a lot of skill in an area you may never develop.
Hello Nick, I own a construction company and am really wanting to get into furniture. I’m from Texas and have the opportunity to take a class in Austin. Do you recommend a class, or trial and error?

Hi mate, fixing all sorts in UK.
What’s the name of the plate you use at 14:58 to cut your own plugs?
Hello there Mr. Sawyer,
Nice project, even though it’s a bit too angular for my taste. Interesting how you made the top angled. You should have made a boring (even though it’s interesting๐) jig for the legs. Your drill bit was long enough for you to do that. There’s only so much "eye work" you can do without having to start to use filler, shims, and co. If you have a good drill press then you can do that job perfectly. You have a fancy machine that can router dowels on the end of a square piece. That’s all very fine, but not everyone owns one. As to the gluing, well yes, there was tons too much. There should be only minimum bleed out along the joint- not puddles all around the job.
And yes, finally, chair making is a very complex and sophisticated art. Here in France, it’s a very highly specialised trade and there are very few true artisans left. I worked in Paris for thirty years in the furniture industry, although more in antique restoration.
Good luck with your new projects. Greetings from France.
Ontario Canada , bespoke humidor producer. Great videos !
Hey Nick, I am a 70-year old geezer from Kennewick in Washington State. I have been doing woodworking as a hobby for around 30 years or so, and still have all my fingers. Make anything and everything as long as it doesn’t entail using a lathe for turnings (one of the few shop tools I don’t have). I make or repair projects for friends and family mostly. Everything from cutting boards to dressers, bookcases, curio cabinets, hope chest, to complete bedroom sets, dining tables, benches, entertainment centers, etc., etc., etc. Very much enjoy watching Youtube channels such as yours for new ideas and techniques. Keep them coming.
Hey Sawyer, awesome videos man, I’m truly inspired by then, I’m slowly transitioning to become a full pledge joiner/carpenter and finally stepping out of the closet. I’m originally from Turks and Caicos but currently going to school here in England. Keep posting @sawyerdesign
Chesapeake, VA. We "try" to flip furniture but have zero woodworking or refinishing skills. Would like to someday, but today is not that day.

Dallas, Texas 53yo here. ok, so I have been binge watching your channel and have to say it is the most entertaining woodworking channel out there. I too have CDO ADDH so I can relate to the manic creativity aspect. I am as impressed by your skills and tools as I am by your humor and the video production. For only being 30, you seem to have a fairly deep grasp of fine woodworking that normally takes a lifetime to learn. I am becoming increasingly obsessed with high precision woodworking. Like all ADHD makers, I have 1,734 projects going at once! I have to build a historically believable, heirloom quality pirate treasure chest, a pentagonal pyramid giga-terrarium and my military war chest. I have been trying to execute the pirate chest for years and have yet to get it right. After watching a few of your vids I decided to model it up in Sketchup which has helped quite a bit. I am now a complete convert to 3-d modeling to set the design prior to the build. Thanks for giving me inspiration. It is not beyond possible that I commission something from you some day, maybe it’s that damned chest! ha ha …..aaaand Robert’s your mother’s brother, there’s my first comment on your channel! oh and the Psyche trance is tight, and lit and fire. share a link?

this is the 2nd video of yours I’ve watched. in the first one you mentioned growing up in Idaho. I see now why we have a shared sense of humor ๐. So i subscribed. I’m stuck in crap-ass northern Colorado. But i too, grew up in Idaho. Mountain Home.
I love everything you said in the beginning of this video. I am the 4 week build guy as well and do a ton of procrastinating at the beginning of a build. FYI a 17" butt is the average, good maths bro!
Colorado woodworker here. Thank you for your inspiring content. I appreciate that you purposefully complicate things๐. Love the use of solid wood over ply, and trad jointer.
I’m from Canada, a big fan of your work, and a hobbyist woodworker ๐
Odd question for you…. Do you have a music playlist for the sound track of your vids?

Thank you for making woodworking videos interesting โค
Nice design and good execution.
Hi! Iโm from Maryland. I am a very-amateur woodworker. I watch your videos to get inspiration and understanding. Your design style is intriguing. I love how you walk through the subtle design queues in your work. A tad bit jealous of your jointerโฆ ;). Your video quality is very very good. From the camera angles to the background music. Itโs all top quality stuff. Matches your woodworking very well. ๐
