Easy Woodworking Project For Beginners (Anyone Can Build This!) #woodworking #woodenflag

Today I am going to show you how to build this American Wooden Flag Concealment Case with a key-less lock for safety and security.

It will also have a sliding front face that will open using shelving glides with ball bearings for a smooth opening and closing. Foam was not added as that would be a specific measurement for the owner and the items that he/she would want to hide.

The tools that I used to build this American Flag can be found with the links below.

How did you attach to the wall?

  2. Raven Fox on December 9, 2022 at 12:26 am

What size kreg jig screws did you use

  3. Marisol Malson on December 9, 2022 at 12:27 am

Would have been nice to see how you bolted this to the wall

  4. csfiremm on December 9, 2022 at 12:28 am

Way too thick. Not hiding anything from anyone in that chunky case.

  5. Justin Heise on December 9, 2022 at 12:29 am

Where do you get the flag stencils? Is it 10.5×15”

  6. Craig hadfield on December 9, 2022 at 12:30 am

All my concealment flags are based on your video. I recommend putting the back on last it’s easy to put the lock on

  7. Ja’Crispy on December 9, 2022 at 12:30 am

What happens if the lock runs out of battery when it’s closed

  8. Edward Rinehart on December 9, 2022 at 12:33 am

What’s the space you have between the flag & the frame?

  9. Justin Hardy on December 9, 2022 at 12:34 am

How do you like that Makita 16g nailer?

  10. Orion Star on December 9, 2022 at 12:34 am

Hello, love your project. Question, will it be fitted in to an alcove , so just to show the flag as if its hanged flush with the wall? and did you add shelves on the inside?

  11. Becky Kastelz on December 9, 2022 at 12:35 am

Thank you! Clear instructions of the working parts that I was curious about 👍

  12. Marisol Malson on December 9, 2022 at 12:37 am

How did you hang it! ?

  13. Kris Sisk on December 9, 2022 at 12:38 am

The one thing I would do different: I wouldn’t make it a flag. It would be either be a plain piece of wood that I could hang something on or some non-flag related artwork. Why? Because everyone makes these things with flags. It’s like an advertisement that there might be a hidden gun safe back there. But get an artist to paint an anime character on a sheet of plywood for you and no one would suspect a thing.

  14. Necedah Lions on December 9, 2022 at 12:39 am

One nice enhancement would be to add a painted gold, wooden molding (commercially available) that looks like rope, around all four edges of the flag. Takes a little modification of the molding itself but adds a great look to the finished project. (Sorry, I don’t have pictures of the one I made).

  15. Kyle Thomas on December 9, 2022 at 12:40 am

So, what happens when the battery dies in that lock?

  16. Andrew Shoffitt on December 9, 2022 at 12:44 am

On the inside where you put the two pieces of 1×6 for the slides couldn’t you use 2×4 instead possibly?

  17. Donna Campbell on December 9, 2022 at 12:45 am

What size box do you ship with? And where do you get them please and thank you

  18. Team Evo on December 9, 2022 at 12:48 am

So when you view it from the side you can see the drawer slides?

  19. Mark Ferrick on December 9, 2022 at 12:48 am

Very nice. I like that you show the problems you had, and solutions. I agree with RH below, notch our the case so the slides go thru, so the flag will be flush.

  20. Tutulow Fresno on December 9, 2022 at 12:48 am

Awesome project. I’m about to do one now that I’ve seen your video. One question what thickness did you use on the plywood for the back?

  21. Invisible woodworks on December 9, 2022 at 12:48 am

    Cool bro

  22. WAR ZONE on December 9, 2022 at 12:49 am

    Amazing job with this

  23. Russ Reid-Smith on December 9, 2022 at 12:50 am

I’d have cut the bottom side of the frame shorter to accommodate the slides so the front flag face was flush with the other sides. Still beautiful work.

  24. Rafael Pagan on December 9, 2022 at 12:50 am

I was talking in my work about making a compartment like this and making ideas in my mind about how to do it and now I go to YouTube and I get this video in recommended XD hahahaha

  25. 300 BLKOUT on December 9, 2022 at 12:50 am

    Do you sell these ??

  26. Z3ROxC00L on December 9, 2022 at 12:50 am

    nicely done

  27. Christopher Palmer on December 9, 2022 at 12:50 am

It would have been easier to leave the back off and set everything from other side

  28. Papou on December 9, 2022 at 12:51 am

    What Cnc machine is that?

  29. Kevin Armstrong on December 9, 2022 at 12:53 am

    Don’t judge me , lol

  30. Pasta Paul on December 9, 2022 at 12:54 am

Thank you. Just finishing mine. One good tip I can pass along is if you don’t put the back of the box on until the end, fitting the locking mechanism is super easy from the back.

  31. Olivia Seaman on December 9, 2022 at 12:56 am

Can I purchase one from you?

  32. saltwater redfish on December 9, 2022 at 12:56 am

Very nice, and cost it great.

  33. MSG A J Himel Ret on December 9, 2022 at 12:57 am

Thanks for the tips and tricks Very good job. I would have made it thinner from front to back… and you need a small hole in the front to activate the lock by battery backup when you forget to change the batteries inside the lock…

  34. Tool Review Zone on December 9, 2022 at 12:59 am

Fyi, I forgot to mention in the video that you can add foam sheets in the case and cut them out around the bang, bang machines. The reason I did not add this is because each bang, bang has a different shape and design.

  35. paul sc on December 9, 2022 at 1:02 am

You could have build the frame and the flag mounted it all before you add the back this way your lock is spot on

  36. Starr Myres on December 9, 2022 at 1:02 am

Thousands of lifetime projects with Woodglut plans.

  37. StudCity718 on December 9, 2022 at 1:05 am

This would be a great coffee table

  38. Wendy Dee on December 9, 2022 at 1:06 am

I’m going to leave the Union White and spray a white base coat. Place down star stencils then spray the blue on top. After it dries remove the stencils and there should be white stars. Do you think this will work? I’m headed to home depot shortly to purchase supplies and start building tomorrow. This will be an xmas gift for my hubby. Wish me luck and THANK YOU FOR THE BEST TUTORIAL BUILD VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!

  39. Mark Clanton on December 9, 2022 at 1:07 am

I made the frame 16” per the video. It looks very short compared to the front.

  40. Face Foliage on December 9, 2022 at 1:11 am

Whats the name of the cnc machine

  41. Blackfoot_Jedi on December 9, 2022 at 1:12 am

Not judging you bro. Great job 👍

  42. paul sc on December 9, 2022 at 1:12 am

    Love it

  43. Candy H on December 9, 2022 at 1:14 am

  44. Tips Hikes on December 9, 2022 at 1:16 am

Got a ? Got a 3’ box I want my lid to slide left what length of rails should I go with?

  45. Kevin Lavin on December 9, 2022 at 1:16 am

how does it open if the batteries of the rfid lock go bad?

  46. MrStairs19 on December 9, 2022 at 1:16 am

Awesome work man. What machine you use to do the stars?

  47. J. D. Large on December 9, 2022 at 1:16 am

Very nice! This gave me an idea, thank you. I’m thinking it’s going to be pretty awesome flush mounted on one of my shop walls! Add French cleating on the inside back wall, (&maybe sides too) to have arrangeable stands for cordless tools. The sky’s the limit…

*Note to self: Make sure to mark locking mechanism location BEFORE securing box bottom 😉…
    Check✌🏼

  48. John Harris on December 9, 2022 at 1:18 am

Couldn’t find a concealment flag on YouTube? Huh? Anyone can do this, just use your CNC machine… uh… wut? 😉

  49. Timothy Gross on December 9, 2022 at 1:21 am

Where can I find the list of the hardware (rolling tracks and lock)

  50. Jeffrey Boarman on December 9, 2022 at 1:23 am

I’m judging you measure twice screw once
