What did this guy sound like as a kid and did one day he suddenly wake up sounding like he has a lawnmower I’m his throat? That said he has an enjoyable voice

  5. Louis Cypher on December 29, 2021 at 8:24 pm

2021 and we still have routers that’ll make you go deaf.

Great vid. I’m just starting out on routing and this info is invaluable! now subbed

  8. Gerald Roberts on December 29, 2021 at 8:28 pm

Has anybody gotten Hyezmar’s Woodworking Bible yet? I think he’s still looking for readers before publishing it. At least that’s what I saw in after go’ogling him.

  9. Tim Hill on December 29, 2021 at 8:34 pm

This is an advanced use video. 3 minutes in and I had no idea what he’s talking about. I need to buy one and use it for a few years before I understand

Could you rip a board in half with a router and if so what bit works best?

  12. Christopher Salisbury on December 29, 2021 at 8:35 pm

Too much too fast for me. Couldn’t fully understand one thing before you moved on to another thing. I’m a total newbie which I’m sure has a lot to do with it.

Another piece of advice is never to use a dangerous router for a job that a safe plane or chisel can do.

Watching this a second time and realized, I have the same cheap set. Haha following his advice and didn’t even know it.

  17. Margaret Kirby on December 29, 2021 at 8:40 pm

This is one of the Most Amazing Video. Loved the Clear fancy shots showing what the bit is doing. The graphics was so amazing and helpful!!! Thank You So Much

  18. Unruhly 3 on December 29, 2021 at 8:41 pm

Very good video. The only thing I didn’t see was about speed. All my routers have a speed dial selector on it. Do you just turn it up to 11 and ask someone to hold your beer? Is different speeds recommended for different bits? Do you set it to where you are comfortable?

  19. Tools & ish on December 29, 2021 at 8:41 pm

Thanks for the tips, glad I watched because I was using a 45 degree chamfer bit and was just going straight for it trying to take off all of it at one time lol oops, good thing it was just a practice piece

As a beginner in the truest sense of the word, I’m even more clueless after watching this. Too fast, too busy. Think this guy really forgets what a beginner means.

  25. josie schultz on December 29, 2021 at 8:52 pm

so much great information here, sometimes it can be a bit hard to visualize what you’re saying and it might be helpful to show examples and slow down a bit

  26. tintin69rr on December 29, 2021 at 8:53 pm

Great video for a newbie to routing such as myself cheers 🍻

  27. Jonathan Katz-Moses on December 29, 2021 at 8:53 pm

BitsBits is the BEST place to buy router bits: http://bit.ly/BitsBits USE CODE JKATZMOSES15 for 15% off
(P.S. I know I suck at saying collet sizes. What you need to know is the big routers have 1/2 inch collets and the smaller ones have 1/4" collets.)

  28. Marlon McNatt on December 29, 2021 at 8:54 pm

Great video! If its not too forward, I may offer the opinion that I almost shut off the video several times simply because the mic gain was too high and the audible distortion on the audio recording of your voice was incredibly distracting to the great info and video presentation. You have an awesome characteristic voice, so obviously the prudent adjustment would be more with the mic gain or placement, but I can’t of course tell what your rig is. Clearly this is all my opinion and I may be crazy. Thank you for all your knowledge and keep making the videos!!!

  29. boomerangfreak on December 29, 2021 at 8:55 pm

Huh that triton router of yours looks VEERY MUCH like the cmt router we have in a cmt router table at our store. Could they be the same?

  30. James Little on December 29, 2021 at 8:55 pm

I don’t have any router bit set. I have just bought good bits as I need for a project.

  32. Jay Doe on December 29, 2021 at 8:57 pm

Love the router bit advice… Buy a cheap set and replace the ones you use or wear out with better ones.

  39. John Ward on December 29, 2021 at 9:05 pm

Great info, good pace. Thx. One question. I’m getting chip-out routing radiused corners on a table top. I now know that I’m routing down grain on one side, and up-grain on the other after I route around the mitered corner. Would the Whiteside combination bit reduce the risk of chips in my scenario?

  40. Alan Brandt on December 29, 2021 at 9:06 pm

One of the best router videos I’ve seen! Thanks!

  41. Normand Halvorsen on December 29, 2021 at 9:07 pm

  43. get out on December 29, 2021 at 9:08 pm

Not trying to be negative. Great information but I feel you should break the topics down and be more in depth.

  44. Bob the builder on December 29, 2021 at 9:11 pm

I would like to add 1 very important thing ( never) put a work piece between router bit and guide pin or fence, it will turn into a [missile] instantly!

  45. Boris Borisov on December 29, 2021 at 9:12 pm

Absolutely useless, evry beginner knows your useless tricks 😒 next time you can show us how to cook scrambled eggs 😅😆😁😆

  48. richard slater on December 29, 2021 at 9:17 pm

I’ve watched literally hundreds of woodworking videos and I really wish they were all like this one. There is no wasted time, every second counts, it’s full of really useful information with absolutely no filler. He doesn’t fancy himself as a comedian, no wacky stuff, his pets and kids are nowhere to be seen and there is no cheesy music. Most videos would take two hours to give that sort of information. If some part really interested me and it went too fast, no problem, just run it again. The vid wasn’t full of advertising and he didn’t waste half his time begging for likes, subscriptions and notifications. This should be used as a tutorial on how to make an instructional YouTube video. Thanks very much. You certainly got my “subscribe”

    Thank you!

  50. Renaissance Man on December 29, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Excellent discussion on routers! Subbed! Can you fit most routers in old craftsman brand router tables? Also what dust management system works best? Routers are sawdust factories! I am new to woodworking and getting my first router and router table.
