Evolution Fury 5-S table saw review
Evolution Fury 5-S table saw review
The Evolution Fury 5 S table saw is a table saw that can cut wood, metal or plastic all with the same blade. This machine has a 10 inch blade or 255mm which enables it to cut material up to 70mm deep. You can easily cut aluminium or steel with the same blade that you use to cut wood or plastic making this a very versatile machine.
This machine was kindly sent to me by Evolution to review.
the late paul daniels severed his two fingers using a similar saw and when they stitched them back they accidentally attached the nerves the wrong way around on one digit. so when he picked something up it felt like it was pressing on his nail, instead of his fingertip.
Thanks so much for this review. It’s now going to be my Mother’s Day present. Love your reviews as they are always straight and down to earth.
Looks like a good machine. I almost bought a Fury 6 at the weekend because of its combined mitre and table saw but I think I would’ve been disappointed so got a Fury 3 instead.
The thing that slides is only attached at one end… is this ok doesn’t it wobble when you cut anyone? pls
I have the same model, but i seem to have my blade tilted, the back of the blade is 2mm approx away from my mire slot then the front of the blade, I checked every other tooth to rule out a bent blade, so I’m thinking the mount needs moving along…. any help or advise will be appreciated.
Great review, was waiting for you to do a table saw review and I think you have just convinced me to get this one! Where would I be able to purchase one from?
Can the machine cut angle iron and box iron please?
Thats a great all purpose blade! Very impressive.
I have just bought 1 of these, are they pretty straight forward to assemble
How accurate is it for square etc ?
Nice demo chez , good old Evolution , they make great tools at a reasonable price , why pay more…. : )
Thank you, I ordered one yesterday.
Getting work caught is a common problem, not just on this machine. The best investment with any table saw is a digital angle finder as you cannot trust any dial adjustment for accuracy – not a lot on eBay!
Wow… don’t normally comment on safety but you shocked me by cutting with everything pushed up to the fence, Very lucky you didn’t get kick-back on all of those pieces trapped between the blade and the fence. Hope beginners weren’t watching. This is my only comment on safety ever, so dont attack me, but PLEASE be careful what you show especially when targeted at beginners. Seems like a great machine and I love the multi-purpose adjustment wheel at the beginning. Clever idea. Thanks for the review.
Hi Thank you for you great channel, I just purchased the fury 5S project machine and am curious to know if you can use the diamond blade in the machine and if so what type of results you get when cutting porcelain floor tiles. Many thanks for an interesting and informative channel.
I got one from B@Q the other day for £90.00 you get what you pay for but for doing a shed or carport it should be fine. I think if you were going to do serious woodworking then you would have to look else where. Most table saws of the higher price range have a much higher speed for a cleaner cut but because this is able to cut other materials such as steel they have reduced the rpm to stop over heating.
Hmm, I’ve been eyeing up the Titan at Screwfix, seems a useful bit of kit for £80. Is this Evo still going strong mate?
i got one and was disappointed with the fence. I thought the fence was a bit wobbly and not suitable for straight cuts.
How does it cope with mother in laws?
Does that fence do a good job at keeping at 90 degrees? The one I have at the moment you need a set square or something to set it, as well as a tape measure, etc. Kind of makes it a bit of a handful (but it was somewhat cheaper, so to be expected).
The fence on this is rubbish!
Hey mate
What’s more powerful the rage 5 or fury 5??thanks
thanks for the review, it is now on my shopping list. take care
considering the price, it’s a very decent machine. i’ve had no issues in 4 years of regular use
Awesome review! Very informative as usual and clear.
is evolution a good brand for quality products
Buy cheap buy twice, so buy a Festool once.
I think the Evolution Fury would make me furious…
日本での発売予定は?
Can the riving knife be remove allowing a cross cut sled to be used?
they just need a slot instead of a hole at the back of the guard, thats how most saws do it, so it will raise and drop down again (a little note for evolution for next time) i do like the vaccuum on top of the guard though, it will get a lot of the dust out. making the guard clear plastic might be an idea too. otherwise top marks, two deep keyslots make this better than a lot of saws (I am still amazed at the steel cutting compared to how it was in the old days when a nail was a major drama!) I hope to see a review of the multipurpose table mitre saw, as its size is handy!
Hiya, thanks for your comments on Ultimate Handyman’s tool review! Evolution can be found in a number of stores across the globe & online. Within 3 clicks you can shop & buy online or view in a local store. Here’s the link: http://www.evolutionpowertools.com/exploretherange/ : )
Nice review. Would recommend using a stop block on cross cuts instead of the fence. Danger of pinching the cut off and it kicking back. I’ve a hole in my shed wall to remind me 😬
Disappointed you didn’t mention the nasty build quality on these machines. I own one, and all the fittings have had to be replaced/modified. The only saving grace is the blade & motor. It is SO the worst Chinese quality. You get what you pay for, I guess.
Great review! Another brilliant tool from evolution!
that’s an amazing machine
good demo
Correct me if I am wrong, I was taught that If you have to lift the blade that high to clear the safety guard the blade is too high to efficiently and safely cut the wood, with the blade teeth so far above the wood you risk the wood binding on the blade. More blade above the wood, more blade exposed which is a danger in itself.
Quick google and there is a lot of information on blade height and safety.
Thanks to evolution tools for sending out their new Fury 5-s table saw for me to review. For the money this is an excellent first table saw 😉
the fence is crap
One of , if not the worst bits of rubbish on the market . . . Don’t touch this thing with a barge pole .
Hi. Great review. Where can I buy this saw from? I can’t find it anywhere
