Help me identify this old Kanna (japanese woodworking plane)
Actually, it’s my first kanna š
I’m trying to identify the maker’s mark (in Kanji) and get some information on this plane’s age and history.
(pictures at 2:00 and 4:10)
can you help me? what’s your opinion about this plane? write your thoughts on this in the comments section below..
thanks!
It reads ę¾ē«¹(pine and bamboo). The mark on the cap iron is äøøåÆ. I don’t know anything more.
It says Shochiku. The other reading for Matsu and take when together. Similar to shinto offering of pine and bamboo on a kamidana. The smaller stamp upper right is a bonji a reference to buddhist ideology. Shochiku is rather generic, probably a wholesaler blade, total crap shoot, maybe good, maybe bad, only one way to find out.
Main blandeās read ę¾ē«¹ļ¼pineļ¼bambooļ¼itās may be makerās name or the planeās name something. In japanes usually read āmatsu dakeā, Chipbreak says āmaru tomiā itās also makerās name or somthing.
Hey man! I have watched all your vids and the channel seems pretty cool! Keep up the good work! I was just wondering if you vould tell me the song playing in the background?
