haha I like the "no carpenter would ever use the term smidge" yes there is another term, carpenter lingo.. something about a hair..

When you’re using the speed square as a cut guide, flip it around so the edge you’re squaring to is away from you. This will allow you to run the saw with the blade all the way out without the motor (on a sidewinder) fouling on the square. Also, buy a Swanson brand speed square not some janky home depot junk. They cost like 15 bucks, there’s no excuse not to have a proper speed square if you’re a working carpenter.

If jeezos was alive today, I don’t think he’d be a carpenter if he ever was; he’d be the UK London equivalent of a ‘Road Man’ always on street chatting, loafing, generally dodging work. Joking….. sort of

  14. Wayne on September 23, 2022 at 12:53 am

God bless you my friend. I just came here because I wanted to find a video and see how a Carpenter holds a tape measure. Turns out I’m not crazy! You hold it in your left hand and mark with your right hand, just like me, a "non-carpenter". And I read it upside down, naturally. I would like to join an unruly mob of frustrated laymen, and storm the Stanley factory. Subdue all their left handed managers, and turn their tape measure machines around, so they only make right handed ones! Cheers!

Kick him out of the club! Trade secrets just given out to the public, how could you?!
I use a lot of these technics daily, I wish the new guy only knew half of this. Most of them show up and read a tape like " 38 and 3 little black lines"
Great video! Keep up the great content!
