    To avoid the need for the end cap could you just stop the dovetail so it doesn’t go all the way through? Would save a couple of steps?

    so you nail the hook onto the wall and slide it onto the insert piece, but then the entire weight of whatever you hang on the hook rests on that tiny piece of wood that is glued on? How much will this thing hold before the glue gives? (I LOVE how strong wood glue is and it always amazes me since I made a wooden curvy board for my kids but I’m just curious in this situation and I am prepared to be surprised!)

    One thing I noticed. Normalt you should put some sort of hardwood on your vice, that bare metal if going to damage you wood
