Just one thing .I think a hacksaw cut in each face of the 1/2 nuts would allow the epoxy better grip.Other than that ,great build. What I like about John’s builds are the use of nearly all wood and no welding which most woodworkers cant do or do nor are equipped for.
I hear a lot of thread drag on the captive nut, are you concerned about thread wear over time?
Saludos desde Reynosa Tamaulipas México amigo!!!

The video was great I really like the way it was put together.
che voce di merda
Bonjour John, très belle réalisation comme d’habitude, vraiment dommage que je ne comprenne pas ce que vous dites…
That split nut quick release is brilliant,10 bucks is a good price for the plans
You are BAD , like in Big Bad John. Nice Vice.
Awesome.
love your work john
Very talented
PERFECT👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
bravo!!! ciao
I cannot activate the subtitles… my English is not the fluid sufficient thing (I’m French by birth and Spanish nationality…)
I think I preferred the long version as it showed more of your thought process and I hadn’t developed as much YouTube impatients.
excelent… !!! this was i thought, one of the first projects i saw from your channel… awesome. Many Thanks!
i am totally going to use this technique….great videos! and i liked the original 10 too
Good video and a great looking vice for woodworking.
Great!
Great video.
what city in canada do you like near?
As a fabricator, much respect to you John. You make a lot from scratch.
What brand and model is your lathe?
good job thanks
Hi,
Im Joe NOT Maria.
Im on her computer now.
FINALLY a guy building something very functional & without any fancy schmancy tools.
GREAT job my friend.
I think people are too wound up in having all the correct brand name tools these days.
You have shown how things were REALLY done back in the days when you used what you had. All it takes is good technique & using your head to make what you need with what you got!
Thank you.
There is not such a thing as" perfectly" parallel, could be almost but not perfectly
G’day John Have you got the pains for the work beach as well
Great
So….47 thumbs down? Really?
Awesome! Great video! I love the way it looks old school with new school parts. Great job!
superior video! I seldom watch videos beyond 8 minutes, so especially thanks for you reedit it.
John, are you a beekeeper? Looked like you were using a hive tool as a scraper in this video
Subbed! I don’t suppose you’ve got plans for an Ulmia style solid workbench? 😀
Excelente prensa Jhon!
богатый тот кто делится, а не тот, кто продает …)))
Хочу такие же металлические!
Hey. I did not like a vise. After using altered.
Have had a similar idea but am having trouble finding nuts big enough to use. Any help would be appreciated
Wow much easier clicking one like than all 10! Thanks, ha! Nicely done as usual 🙂
Hey John, the shop is really coming together! It’s looking tidy and well organized. Anything that needs revision or relocation?
thank you
Really good job , I watched your other videos a lot of hard work not only in the build but the filming and editing too thank you.
John – great video and terrific plans. Are the routed semi-circle channels on the top of A1 and A2 just part of the prototype (shown at 4:20)? I don’t see those in the plans. Cast metal bench vises are really expensive so this will save a lot of money by making one. Well worth the $10. Thanks.
Muy buen diseño ,fuerte ,práctico y estético ,exelente
Buen trabajo felicidades.
Yes this one is a lot finer
