How to make box joints easily without any jigs
How to make box joints easily without any jigs
In this episode we show you the most simple and cost effective way to make box/finger joints. This way you can make any size box you want without expensive box joint jigs/templates.
The guide pieces have to be two times the width of the router bit.
Security ?
Great to see this demonstration with no annoying background music. Thank you.

Nice video!
Woodglut scripts contain most of the woodworking plans you can find.
This is absolutely brilliant! what a fantastic video. It’s so easy to whine and complain about how rough life is and how prices are going through the roof blah blah blah. I choose to focus on the fact that I live in a day and age where I can learn a fantastic tip that will instantly improve my life from a video posted on the internet by a guy in Finland. Fuck yeah baby! thank you for this information my friend.
Was it just trial and error to get the shim stock the correct thickness? and what offset shim used for the 2nd half of each corner?
so basically he’s just using spacers against the fencefor each cut?
This is so cool
Ok, smart. The shims need to be precise, but that can be verified with calipers. The routing method seems to work well here even with rather big cuts on thicker stock, but he’s using spruce. It’s Finland! I imagine Norway Spruce (picea abies) everywhere. Thanks for the video. I hate making jigs.
Yes but what about the electric saw . I don’t have power tools . Easy with all those workshop tools
Loved it. Nice & simple. Love the intimate closeness of fingers & blades. Loved the ears.
Awesome!
NICE. Clear.Concise.Practical- I will definitely try this technique. Thank you.
Love the video
No loud music, no advertising, no nonsense just a great educational lesson, excellent.
Does no one use hand tools anymore?
Great box video. U are very skilled woodworker
Smart man.
you don’t show how to align the sides before cutting. can this be done with a table saw?
Yes, I want all those tools.
He is going to cut of some fingers with his technique!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, well done
Gerat work!
That was awesome. Thanks.
great tip to make the spaces with the sticks of the same size…👍
thank you…i am new and on a budget so this method works for me.
Nice, but he got perfect joints because he started with the perfect size wood width, otherwise you always end up with at least one small joint. You could almost say "cheating".
what will be the width of the spacer block?
Beautifully simple. And I want one of these hats he is wearing !!
Thanks buddy
Good job
People going on about him using the expensive planers are missing the point. Just buy the wood planed and buy a router bit that is half the size of it. It was worth watching the video just to see the use of that pushing tool!
Me gusta mucho los sistemas de montaje sin clavos, me parece carpintería pura y gracias por el esfuerzo de hablar inglés para que pueda entender todo el mundo. Gracias 🙏🙋🏻♀️🇪🇸
Briljant 👍👍👍
What was the thickness of the pieces you added to the fence?
Good Job. Thanks for sharing. 😃
Thank you!
Happy and amazed this guy still has both his thumbs.
Very nice solution. I haven’t seen that technique before.
Those fingers won’t last long that close to the table saw blade.
I love that crosscut fixture you use.
This is beautiful! I wonder can I do it without a router table? ps I love your earphones on your head like that! lol
cool
Displaying the Finnish national spirit perfectly. They don’t say much, but that what comes out counts. Loving it!
your my man are the champion of box joints.bottom line
That’s right, sleeve blouse and without the bat! Congratulations
