How To Make Jigsaw Table With Hacksaw Blade || DIY Jigsaw Table

A jigsaw is often used upside down, especially for neat scribe cuts and the like. In this project, I made a frame to house my jigsaw in an inverted position so that I could use it to cut pieces of wood and metal. I have used a hacksaw blade in this jigsaw table. I hope you like this video.

    1 drawback. You are always only using about 2,5 cm or 1 inch of the blade. You need to make the jigsaw adjustable so that you can drop the jigsaw so that you can use a new section of the blade. I think an adjustable surface would be easier . Using 4 threaded rods with a top nut countersunk and 4 each of pipes cut to 2,5 cm 1inch and 5 cm ,7,5 cm 10 cm etc maybe till 20 cm ( in inches 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ……. 8 inches) long. Putting the top table bed down on the one pipe height you made with the spacer pipes in between the 2 beds will allow you to utilize the full length of the blade. Yes your table bed will become progressively higher but we only talking a few inches. You could go further and make the stand where saw stands on adjustable, with legs adjustable down. ie: the higher the table bed the lower the legs equals constant work height . I would make this adjustment using the lowering down in increments of say 3 inches ( 7,5 cm) I wouldn’t use this saw to cut metal as it is always advisable to liquid lubricate the blade when cutting metal with a saw. Just my thoughts

    Да действительно хорошо и просто,но дело в том, что ход маятника не большой, соответственно и рабочая поверхность полотна не большая после металла затупится, для дерева в самый раз. А так прикольно.

    During cutting or any other machine operation , you should use cutting fluid or some machining coolant , to increase the life of tool , drill bit etc. Also it will give more finished and smooth look to the operation . Will also help in dissipating the excessive heat generated during the cutting / drilling operation.

    Nice job, but the actual working space here is not bigger than the original jigsaw had. The whole idea to my mind to be able to saw LARGE ojects that a jigsaw cannot. I wonder why going full way of switching to hacksaw blade and still using 1/10th of it?
