How to Sell Woodworking Projects and Woodworking Business Tips

I want to share how I have had success selling woodworking projects online and in person. I’ll talk about how to get sells on your woodworking projects and give you some tips that have helped my wife and I build a successful woodworking business. My main goal with this video is to help you make money woodworking. If you want to start a woodworking business, try applying this information to your business and see if they will help you. I have been able to successfully sell my woodworking on Etsy, my own website and I sell my woodworking projects locally. I think it is important to have multiple revenue streams in your woodworking business plan. Woodworking full time or even part time can be both a rewarding and a profitable business. I have been able to grow my woodworking business from home, starting with just three borrowed tools. I hope you can use these woodworking business tips to grow your own business. I can’t guarantee any of these tips will make money for your woodworking projects, but I want to try and help you if I can. If you haven’t already seen my best selling woodworking projects video, you can check it out by following the link below.

Mr matt, I have been watching you for awhile now and I like your sense of humor and you have a lot of good tips and tricks for wood working, I am like you when you started, I only have a miter saw and a circular saw, heck I don’t even have a place to do wood working but, I hope and pray some day I will and like you I believe God will help me do this, thank you for all your inspiration, you are a blessing from heaven

I would like your opinion on a item I have how would you display this in your home, I make floor lamps on an 18-in round with an inlay in the center and top with epoxy. Would you place anything on that top or would you leave it plain to let you everybody see the inlay I can send you a picture of what I mean about my lab. By the way love your work

Love your advice, and I find it very helpful.
And your advice of requesting 50% of total cost upfront is great. I have done this in the past. On a current project, I didn’t do this, because I personally know the client. But my wife told me I should of still used this approach.👍

  12. Joe Combs on March 30, 2022 at 6:36 pm

    Just an idea.
    But
It sounds like you are building as much as you can with the time you have.
Maybe you need to hire a part-time helper.
Someone to take your cut list and cut your parts so all you have to do is assemble & finish your products.
You could find someone who needs a little extra money or someone that wants to learn from you.

  14. Richard Cagle on March 30, 2022 at 6:36 pm

Yeah, my $500 miter saw was rushed. Just starting out and the table saw was the only real power tool I needed. Wish I’d bought hand planes, better saw blades etc instead of the miter saw. Now I’m out of extra cash till March.

Looking to start small woodworking business for small items at first. I’ve already been selling for a little bit but want to be able to make it into a legitimate sole proprietor. Questions are, did you get insurance if so what kind? Did you go LLC of just a DBA, Sole? I make cutting boards and other small items like end tables , boxes . With all the different species of wood and most of them being sensitizers what if someone has a reaction to it? Or maybe I’m overthinking like I do alot. Anyway any info will help, thanks. BTW great videos very helpful and informative 👍 keep up the good work.

I’m actually researching woodworking I’d like to try and make a business out of it or just make spare cash to save toward buying my first home. Due to the market I’ve been trying to buy a house for an entire year and yet I have nothing , over 100 bids into homes lost them all due to people paying 30k over asking price or even 80k over , my aunt did that for her house and she won by 6k more then the other bidder …

there’s that wide gray area between a hobby and a business which I call a side Hustle

  37. Bamboo Training on March 30, 2022 at 6:58 pm

That part where you said not to greet your buyers full of wood dust and wood glue was funny af bro. I only have a hand held saw at the moment. So far ive made a shoe rack, shelves, a toy chest, and finishing a cabinet door. I like my style, lol theyre looking loyal, but in all honesty my lines are crooked mostly, but in a way I kinda like the rawness of it.

dose it count cheating or idea stealing if I take pictures of pinterest , post them and let people know I can make like this too. ? I do mention that it’s a pic from the internet and I can copy it .
coz as you said I posted my own built products but people would share something from the internet and ask if I can make it? .I started posting pics that I can make alongside my products .
and thank you so very much as always your videos are so informative, and I learn a lot.

  48. Revan on March 30, 2022 at 7:13 pm

Right now I’m struggling, real bad don’t even have 4 walls around me or a door for my living space. I could fix this with the money I got but if not have much left I have done construction, I made a beautiful Alaskan style dog house. I wanna try my shot at doing woodworking in my small town and I think it will go well here. We got roughly 4,800 people in town and nearest place with decent furniture is an hour away, so my hope is to help people here and help myself as well. Very excited to get started and tomorrow I am beginning thanks for all these videos man.
