A very helpful video, which I shall recommend to my daughter. But, ouch! I was always taught to put a plane down on its side, so as to avoid damaging the carefully honed blade!

Great video. Straight to the point and well done. That is a very nice planer he is using. I use to have one like that. Now I just have the small Stanley from the 50s. I find a lot of guys would have been better off using a planer for some jobs. It is a very underestimated tool.
