Watch as Frank Strazza shows you the ins and outs of using a hand plane, one of hand tool woodworking’s basic tools. Part of the Heritage School of Woodworking’s Basics of Joinery online course: http://www.sustainlife.org/store/online-courses/basics-joinery-three-joints/
Excellent presentation; a real teacher! I finally know the reason for and how to use the lateral adjustor!
Great job. Your video and way of presenting was a pleasure to watch. There is no doubt that you will be successful on youtube.
Very helpful! Thanks!
thank you teacher!
very good lesson about plane
Hi, Show for us how to sharpen the iron, please.
Americans put their planes on benches differently to Us it seems if I put a plane down cutting side down on to a bench at college I would be planed in to tiny pieces :O I have learnt loads from your video
Excellently done. You have a new subscriber.
The dovetailing on the front of that workbench is BEAUTIFUL!
Awesome educational videos
Nice clear informative video, thanks.
Very instructive. Well-explained. Thanks.
This video was amazingly informative. I bought a #4 plane recently, had not clue how to use it and the manual was virtually useless. I knew that it’s a skill to use one, and now I know where to start
Very informative, thank you.
Great video, thank you for posting. I learned a ton!
Very nice woodshop and great explanation. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for a very clear tutorial.
Brilliant stuff, learnt so much from one video.
Wow, that’s just enchanting 🙂
Great video. I missed such informative lessons on the very basics of woodworking. I am happy to have found this channel. Thank you.
Excellent video. As a beginner you gave me a world of information.
Very well done and clear, thanks! If I may ask, given it is not too easy to tell from the video, do you actually lift the plane slightly when pulling it back, so to protect the blade? I think I read somewhere that otherwise the blade will become quickly dull, is that the case?
Thanks for the video. Best Hand plane video
Thanks this was a great help I hope to set my plane up to work near as well as you have. I have several old ones that my dad used many years ago. Again thanks.
This is the best video ever about hand plan. I’ve learned a lot, all details and tip. Thanks a lot!
Totally agreed about the lateral adjustment. An excellent introduction for those of us totally incompetent with hand planes!
thanks for this awesome information.
