This nice man is going to get people hurt. This is a bad way to use a table saw
I just used a long straight edge and a couple of clamps on my table saw.
30-odd years ago the DeWalt radial arm demo videos showed how to make dished panels using a similar technique swinging the blade through an arc on the gimbal mount.
Having watched videos I tried something very similar to that. It cost me a set of bearings for my Ridgid table saw. Table saws were not meant to put up with that kind of thrust loading no matter how small a bite you take. Be warned.
I like to use the table saw for coping joints, it’s definitely not for everyone
Very inventive but honestly I would grab the last piece you put on thrown out the rest and set it up from your table channel/slides, yup just one piece of wood and 10min later.
Real top notch craftsmanship. Cracking saw.
1:05 sketch city , and at 3:30 you understand why you don’t do this.
Thanks!
I did this last year while replicating an antique. It worked as intended, but I was sweating bullets for fear of safety. If that gate moves during a pass, things would go jelly-side-down in a flash! I’m happy to see someone else do this odd cut because it assures me I wasn’t completely crazy in my guess in how they did it.
I just worked building a boat for a 1/2 payment in two pallets of Hawaiian Koa. And silk oak beams and ceder siding. Going from fiberglass fabrication to wood working.
Will I be successful?
I figured, sharp tools are safe tools, some tools are not worth the budget buy. Some are.
I also am going to ask to be shown how to use and handle any tools I’m unfamiliar with.
I do amazing things with a worm drive saw that brakes rules . I may not be so lucky with a shop full.
Undoubtedly, ingenious and very original. !
unfortunately it produces parabolas and not true curves.
lol at everyone commenting on missing digits. watch it again.
i see one left hand ring finger missing the tip.
lol at comments on how dangerous it is.
all timberwork is dangerous. im not seeing excessively deep cuts or forcing machinery beyond its capabilities… perfectly fine as long as you slow down and think for a change.
at 2:29" : what are those screw-in connectors called?
OK now i need a table saw
What a idia sar ji. Keep it up. I love you bro 😀🙏
What a great way to lose a couple of fingers. This is a very bad idea.
Sensei
I’m sorry but this is dangerous as fuck, and it is downright irresponsible of you to be putting on YouTube. If you, as a professional carpenter, chose to do this sort of risky thing in your own workshop so be it. But please do not give amateurs and diy people ideas that this is common or safe practice. Someone could lose their hand by attempting this.
That is such a cool jig! Thank you for showing this off..
I might make a set of these for the new bed I’m building for my wife and I
Or you could just clamp a board to the table saw at the angle…
This guy has only three and a half fingers. He wants every safety device around. Smart.
Bien muy bien
Good idea. Thank you very much
….or you could just clamp a piece of wood diagonal to the blade and get the job done. Tiger tanks are less complex than this jig.
Hmmm got to imagine the side load pressure. The machine and blade isn’t built for that. Imo he is lucky no accident
Muy Buen Video.
*¡¡¡ BUEN TRABAJO !!!*
Super glue, wood glue, and wood screws. What, no brads, staples and liquid nails as well?
very nice biuld !!! a solid jig !! good glue use 😊. also a good tapering jig !!
This video is scary af.

I’ve done that numerous times w no issues. Just be sure to take small bites & let the saw do the work. I’m more interested in the miter gauge that was being used.
Muy buena idea
Your saw Spindle is out of alignment to the table rails
That’s why you were getting burn marks on all those little triangles
You have to adjust the table on that thing
This man is missing a fingertip yet it seems like that wasn’t enough to satisfy him. Combined with the hack to get extremely fast dry times on a *jig* of all things, I’m not getting a "safety first" vibe from this channel.
1:05, 3:15, 6:20 to name a couple of NOPE moments
❤❤❤❤
Wow. What a genius 👍
Dude u must cuy a lot if coves to go through all of that. Seems most just clamp a straight piece if stock to the table.
I’ve seen people doing this (the arch cut at the beginning of the vid) before, but I can’t help but think this is obscenely dangerous. In general, of course, but in this particular case, the fence is MUCH lower that the contact point of the blade with the top of the arch and therefore, producing a torque on the workpiece that encourages it to rotate to camera left. How on earth do you do this and ensure that a slight wiggle in the workpiece doesn’t turn into a ballistic
block of cellulose? 6:33, for example.
look up "table saw concave" it is a very common technique.
Just because we can, does not mean we should.
This is a terrible idea, and a gross misuse of the design of the saw.
Judging by the many missing digits, I would not follow this recommendation from this carpenter.
Say something. Give me a clue about what you are doing. Until then, I will spend my time with other providers.
What an elegant little table. Truly a beautiful example a simplicity being the best design.
Don’t ever do this. Wtf is wrong with you…
