When I first saw the coffee boat I thought "Oh hell, Scott’s not gonna get any work done at all"
Then Scott said Gaston lives in Nelson, and I thought "Oh hell, Scott’s going to be broke forever"

Also if you need garden equipment, get onto Trade Tested. Their power trimmer combo is on sale for about $450, 20" chainsaw is $200, 43cc brush cutter is $220, and they all go like a cut cat. My 43cc brush cutter I’ve already tuned and hopped up a bit and it shreds thick Kikuyu like its nothing, and you can fit a 9 1/4" skilly blade on it as well.

people pay good money to try to reproduce a roof like that (the patina’d garage roof). Consult your architect/designers on the overall look and feel you are going for. you may be able to leave it as a feature. new, as we know, is not always better. it’s probably 10ga steel. nearly impossible to buy these days, as roofing, for a reasonable cost.

  13. Joseph Paoo on January 12, 2022 at 10:43 pm

    Gaston!!

  14. Ivan on January 12, 2022 at 10:43 pm

Hello you two, congratulations on the purchase of your first home.
Garage ideas. Lift up by about the height of two concrete blocks. Re clad with Linea board to match the house and re roof if required. Probably not an economic upgrade and a new garage may be a better idea. Cheers from Christchurch.

  15. Carlos Sanchez on January 12, 2022 at 10:47 pm

Cool video would be seeing you raise your garage for more head room!

  16. Saul Goodman on January 12, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Mate! What a great tip on clamping the board on so you could drill the hole. I would have plugged the door. Your way is way better! BUt. gotta move that door handle down to 35" from the ground!

    For the sake of engagement/YTmetrics
Power wash it. Hit problem areas with a nylon brush on an angle grinder. Provided you don’t now have any holes in the roof, liberally treat problem areas with a rust neutralizing primer followed by 2-3 coats of the roof coating of your choice.

  26. Theo Macer on January 12, 2022 at 11:02 pm

Thanks for the hole saw tips

  27. Brad Fry on January 12, 2022 at 11:04 pm

  30. paul poco on January 12, 2022 at 11:06 pm

Deadbolt. Key turns fine but put key in or pull key out sticks. Without buying all new lock sets for 2 doors, will be trying graphite powder next.

  31. Shelley Raskin on January 12, 2022 at 11:09 pm

My advice is live somewhere for a year before making major changes so you can experience the seasons.

  34. Rob Moreland on January 12, 2022 at 11:11 pm

When I do the hole saw trick on a door, I also clamp a board to the back side of the hole to prevent tearout as the hole saw exits. If I want to be overly careful, I stop when the pilot bit for the hole saw makes a hole in the board on the back side, then use that to guide the hole saw from the back of the door.

  35. Ron Murphy on January 12, 2022 at 11:11 pm

They make a Direct-To-Metal (DTM) paint in the US that may be helpful, this is applied by air-less paint sprayer. My neighbor used this to repaint his metal window frames and it looks like factory.

  36. Kevin Kolinen on January 12, 2022 at 11:11 pm

I just came across the same situation. 35$ for a new hole saw for knob hole boring. The whole kit…21$?

  37. Fynn Hendrikse on January 12, 2022 at 11:12 pm

10:20 if you have a hole saw that fits the old hole you can buy a bit that allows you to screw 2 hole saws on and use the inner one as a pilot bit

  38. Didrik Gunnarsson on January 12, 2022 at 11:13 pm

if you do not already have it i highly recommend 3m peltor as ear protection
