Incredible Woodwork Ancient Techniques Still Blends Well with Modern Interiors | Old Method

Hello Everybody,
For this quarter, a lot of people who loved my previous videos have asked me to show them the skills of the great master artisans (very few people alive) and even older but they’re still trying day-by-day to pass on traditional values to the next generations.
#woodworking #incrediblewoodwork #ancienttecnique

To thank and honor them, we decided to create a series of video shows about them and their work from the footage available from my friends and myself.

Everything has been redone. I have edited the script, rewrote the content, new effects work, new music, new footage added and a new creation is created as follows: “Incredible Woodwork Ancient Techniques Still Blends Well with Modern Interiors | Old Method”

Today, this video will probably be more appealing because of the appearance of an Osaka Karaki Sashimono Master Craftsman: Mr.Nakajima (中島さん)

  11. richard defour on January 1, 2022 at 8:19 pm

Je ne vois pas ce qu’il y a d’incroyable à travailler sans immobiliser sa pièce, comme le premier artisan ou a appliquer une finition, certes minutieuse sur un meuble.

  12. bamm boo on January 1, 2022 at 8:21 pm

    what techniques

  13. Jibril Donaghey on January 1, 2022 at 8:22 pm

Music is spoiling the video, I would rather listen to the hammer and chisel sound.

  14. spud pud on January 1, 2022 at 8:24 pm

What have Japanese against holding down their work. How does wobble help.

  15. Simone Doherty on January 1, 2022 at 8:24 pm

The amazing skills of master craftsmen never stop amazing me. As some of the earlier comments say, the video itself is not the best but from my point of view a good effort and certainly didn’t detract from the showcasing of such amazing work. The meticulous work and dedication to detail of these artisans is inspiring. I thought the music was nice too, very meditative.

Haven’t these people ever heard of a "band saw" or "bench dogs" or even clamps? It really is incredible they still working in such a primitive way, especially when we have seen other people from the same area using proved and better methods.

Is this why japan has so many workers that work late? for most stuff they could use power tools instead use hand tools ? inefficiency in japan is to large in scale.

  18. SimplyReg on January 1, 2022 at 8:26 pm

A master craftsman hasn’t worked out how to chisel against a stop?

  35. Linda NWFirefighter on January 1, 2022 at 8:46 pm

It would have been far better video and far more peaceful had you not added music. Let us hear the sounds of the work.

  36. Tvideo on January 1, 2022 at 8:46 pm

The kerf cuts in that first leg clip were obviously made with a power saw. It would have been MUCH more efficient to just use a bandsaw since they are using power tools anyway.

  37. Skeggi Skjeldarson on January 1, 2022 at 8:46 pm

Next time, keep the camera on a stand. Such an interesting technique should be documented properly.

  38. Robert Emerson on January 1, 2022 at 8:46 pm

Great craftsmen but no one could nail a block down or clamp that first leg down to keep it from moving all over the table with every hit. Smh

  39. 909sickle on January 1, 2022 at 8:55 pm

What is with this music? Fine ancient techniques of skilled craftsmen, set to the lovely tune of a generic repetitive disposable music that was rejected for on-hold music because it drove too many people to insanity.

  40. Christiam Haagensen on January 1, 2022 at 8:55 pm

Fyi, it’s perfectly acceptable to make a video without music.
If that’s a proper name for the intolerable noice.
    Stopped watching.
    Thumbs down for music

  41. Norman Fawley on January 1, 2022 at 8:55 pm

    Loose the f’in music !

  42. weedeater64 on January 1, 2022 at 8:56 pm

What the actual fuck with all those crosscuts/chiseling at the beginning?

Why the fuck didn’t he just rip cut that?

  48. Sonny Jimm on January 1, 2022 at 9:03 pm

Amazing that humans can master such difficult techniques in woodcraft yet we still don’t know how to use a God damn camera. 🤦‍♂️

  49. Michael Beary on January 1, 2022 at 9:08 pm

Theyre not even going to show how those cuts were made in the beginning?
