Making a table saw sled or crosscut sled lets you get safe, repeatable, accurate cuts with your saw. My old table saw sled was worn out and didn’t have a integrated stop block. So I made a new one with a sliding stop block and some nice little features. I’ll also show you how to square your cross cut sled using a simplified version of the 5 cut method that doesn’t require all the math. #woodworking #tablesawsled #crosscutsled

Any issue using a miter bar from rockler as opposed to the hardwood runner? Just happen to have some extras

    Great job
I like too much your channel

Love the video.. what size are the runners? Also what size of plywood did you use?

  6. Creek Tilghman on January 13, 2022 at 11:21 pm

There are many similar projects in Woodprix’s plans.

"Simple" when you’re using like 8K worth of equipment.

I was planning to make a new table saw sled, and decided to look for a video while eating lunch, not expecting to learn anything. I have to say I’m impressed with this video! The method to square the back fence is one I have not seen before, and I’m sure it will lead to a squarer sled than I would have had. I also like the super glue method to hold the rails in place until the sled can be flipped and the rails properly attached. Thank you for making this!

Dude, you are awesomely wonderful. Such explicit detail. Just discovered your channel. I’m subscribed man, but I have to play you on half speed, maybe more cos I’m stoned than because you talk too fast.

    Amazing job

  15. Chris Victor on January 13, 2022 at 11:27 pm

Thank you for making this. I used your video for guidance in making my first sled and it worked out beautifully. Your technique for truing the fence was really helpful, it came out more precise than I thought it would!

    Nice video

  19. pecosROB on January 13, 2022 at 11:30 pm

I need to make one of these but a lot smaller for my jobsite dewalt tablesaw I got earlier this summer (finally used it last night – it’s just been too hot!)

  20. Chris Genovese on January 13, 2022 at 11:32 pm

I was making some fixtures for my french cleat wall. I was cutting small squares on my table saw. I got really bad kick back, the piece of wood flew across my shop and punctured a huge crack in a can of CA glue activator, spraying all over the place. So, now I’m here! Thank you for the simple functional design and video. This will be my project for the day.

sir this may not be related totally to woodworking. can you give an idea how to make a wood guide or sled similar or with a function of matboard cutter for picture framing

  24. Tim The Enchanter on January 13, 2022 at 11:35 pm

I have a Portable Table Saw, but after some adjustments Its going to be great. Thanks so much for the Video

  25. Greg Ebel on January 13, 2022 at 11:36 pm

Instead of 3/4" plywood for the fences could I just use the 1/2" plywood and do a triple stack? Or could I get some 1×4 boards and double them up? Or maybe some 1×4 PVC boards? Hate to buy 3/4" plywood just for this.

Hey man, great video. Thanks for putting it up. I am in the process of building one of these and your explanation of everything has been great.

  29. Brody Builds on January 13, 2022 at 11:41 pm

Good video but man, talk slower and give more explicit descriptions of what you’re doing. It’s like trying to learn from that Micro Machines guy.

  30. Chuck Maddox on January 13, 2022 at 11:42 pm

Define "Front". Is it the fence closest to you or is the the fence farthest away? Saying Far or Near/Close fence is less ambiguous imho

  31. Gregory Lattanzi on January 13, 2022 at 11:42 pm

I know this is a video from 2 years ago but I just made adjustments to my original sled to make yours! Thanks!

  32. Tuan Bui on January 13, 2022 at 11:42 pm

had a question, so u only move the left side of fence if u cut on the left side of saw. this is where i get a lil lost. do u change pivot point sides depending which side of saw u cut on?? dont think im going about this correctly. and want to get my head around this prior to attempting it. thx

  33. R M on January 13, 2022 at 11:45 pm

I built one of these for my new cabinet saw and it is awesome. I can’t wait to put it to use on some pending projects. Thanks again!

  34. gojitmal1978 on January 13, 2022 at 11:45 pm

That’s great, now can you do one with just a table saw?

  35. Alan Bacon on January 13, 2022 at 11:46 pm

Can’t gat around the security qustions

  36. icedutah on January 13, 2022 at 11:50 pm

Thanks for this video. Just built this. Only diff I made was used a stop block from Katz-Moses.

  37. Jim D on January 13, 2022 at 11:51 pm

There are dozens of great sled designs out there, but I found yours to be the best balance between features / easy to build. I just finished mine and it came out great — thanks very much for this excellent video tutorial and the free design!

  38. stool sampler on January 13, 2022 at 11:54 pm

    your jokes are brutal

  39. Richard T on January 13, 2022 at 11:55 pm

Thanks man! I made the sled and it works perfectly. Best design out there in my opinion. It is a game changer and I should have done this years ago.

  40. Timothy Moore on January 13, 2022 at 11:56 pm

I did make a sled after watching this video. At the 7:30 mark I did copy your idea with the screw so as to readjust it but it came out remarkable close, so i am going to leave it. Also my sled is not as smooth as yours but its going to work.

  41. Mike Merc on January 13, 2022 at 11:58 pm

I got lost at the five cut method almost discouraged I’m going to still try

  42. icedutah on January 13, 2022 at 11:58 pm

How would you add a tape measure to this sled?

  43. Miguel DelaCruz on January 14, 2022 at 12:00 am

Hey I have a question I am off by 0.04 Just leave it alone or make more adjustment?

  44. Terry McCusker on January 14, 2022 at 12:01 am

This is perfect for what I need to do. Thanks.

  46. Rich Morin on January 14, 2022 at 12:05 am

Some folks suggested using metal components in the sled. Indeed, my old sled uses an extruded piece of Aluminum for the back rail. However, this won’t play nicely with my SawStop, because it could provide a conductive path from my hands to the blade and thus activate the brake. Also, making the major components out of wood may result in fewer metal chips, longer blade life, etc.

Here’s my simple sled build where I use an entire shop that most people don’t have. Simple!
