Idk if it’s the wood blocks I got with my kit or if the knives are just severely under-sharpened. But nothing I do cuts the wood as easily and cleanly like in these videos. I’ve spent like 2 hours whittling away at one block and making probably nowhere near as much progress as I should have.

Good morning, can someone tell me the name of the tool you use to make the cuts? I want to buy one and I do not know how I know what its name is, if you know of a special brand that is good I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your fine video, well prepared, well presented and well demonstrated. Many presenters “tell” you what to do, you “showed” us what to do, a big difference. John

Great introductory video, I’ve recently taken up the hobby and this was an awesome short and sweet explanation that other videos took 20-30 minutes to describe. Bonus points because you remind me of my crafty grandma. Excellent work!

    What wood is this?

  47. Linda Lrb on August 2, 2022 at 11:19 pm

Hi there, I’m brand new to whittling at the age of 62. As if life wasn’t hard enough I needed something new lol.
My husband says old folks used to whittle to take their minds off of things. I just got my tools last night, I’ll try to let you know if I could do it.
