You can use Woodprix to build it in the cheapest way.

  2. Lara Dresden on February 9, 2022 at 10:18 pm

Shouldn’t the top of the wood jaws be flush with the top of the bench??

  6. Fernando Aquino Kaleniuszka on February 9, 2022 at 10:23 pm

What type of bit did you use that makes the hole bigger?

  7. Swapnil Bhartiya on February 9, 2022 at 10:23 pm

Thanks but except for holding small pieces in place, I don’t see any use of this install.

  8. Steve Yonah on February 9, 2022 at 10:27 pm

Very good video, I think I like Wranglerstar’s install a little better because when he finished the top of his protective boards were flush with the top of his workbench, so they would not snag stuff as he slid it around. Good video, just pointing that one thing out. Thanks ( had to correct my spelling… stupid FFS!) 🙂

I have two 3/4" plywood table top glued together (1.5" total) with the end grains on the edge. Would there be any issues mounting this vice to it? thx

  13. Hello Hello on February 9, 2022 at 10:34 pm

I just got my 1st one today! 🙂

  14. ashmanra1922 on February 9, 2022 at 10:36 pm

What country are these vises manufactured?

  15. hulkhuggett on February 9, 2022 at 10:39 pm

Man, how did you figure out how to mount this? I’ve had one mounted to the top of my bench for years. Lol. I just bought another one and the mounts are different so that’s why I searched for this video. It has served me very well, but I didn’t know it was designed to go on the bottom.

  17. Jia Haoming on February 9, 2022 at 10:42 pm

Hey good instructions man! It is nice to see you and me use the same metabo contractor saw!

  18. Tomeka Pompey on February 9, 2022 at 10:44 pm

I bought plans from Woodglut and did it very quickly.

  19. J T on February 9, 2022 at 10:46 pm

There are much better ways to do this. You made at least 2 mistakes. The back jaw should be recessed so that it’s flush with the face of the workbench, and the top of the wood jaws should be flush with the top of the work surface.

  20. Tony De Leo on February 9, 2022 at 10:47 pm

You might consider putting a thin shim vertically between vise and oak under the bench so top of the metal is flush with the top of the work bench.

Nice video. That shop is way to clean.

Camera work: A. (Excellent video quality. Good job.)
Narration: D-minus to F. (Go to a dictionary and look up the word soporific. Next time, try caffeine.)
Hardware information: D-minus. (What size drill bits did you use? Which screws? Videos should have information!)
Overall Grade: D+/C-. Conclusion: I would not recommend this video to anyone.

  24. Michael Vu on February 9, 2022 at 10:51 pm

Might want to make the vise flush to the table. It will make your life a bit easier down the line

  25. Tyler Smith on February 9, 2022 at 11:00 pm

You sir need a mitre saw!

  26. Randy Stolle on February 9, 2022 at 11:03 pm

Nice video. I recently bought one of these vises and will be installing it soon. So 2 months in, would you change anything about where you placed it or how you set it up?

  27. Larry Spiteri on February 9, 2022 at 11:06 pm

Was there a way to install it flush to the bench so that it wouldn’t interfere with wood sliding into it

  28. ManDroid on February 9, 2022 at 11:08 pm

I just mine today but I didn’t know that it came without screws or bolts.
Now I have to go to Home Depot and figure out what screws to use

  29. Rohit Sinha on February 9, 2022 at 11:09 pm

Are you using your fence for cross cut?

  30. Max Bernstein on February 9, 2022 at 11:10 pm

Can you say what screws are needed?
