Learn Japanese Fast Phrases — Daily Onomatopoeia: Japanese Sounds

Learn Japanese with JapanesePod101.com! You’ve come quite a long way towards fully mastering Japanese onomatopoeia. Great job! There’s more to learn, though. Did you know that some Japanese onomatopoeia don’t actually imitate sounds? This makes them quite different from their English counterparts. For example, when you talk about someone who is “leafing through a book” in Japanese, you are using onomatopoeia.
This Japanese lesson teaches you everything you need to know about non-sound imitating Japanese onomatopoeia. You’ll find a simple explanation about why they are different from sound imitating onomatopoeia and the right ways to use them. Just a few of the words you’ll find are parapara (“scattering rain”) and kachikachi (a clattering sound). This lesson is your one stop source for getting in-depth with Japanese onomatopoeia.

Yes.. sometimes. 😛
First comment? 😮
love the intro and outro music, is there a place to download it!?
@googims I agree with you, her explanation of the Japanese language is easy to comprehend, but I must admit.. her "easy on the eyes" looks are not a negative either. Maybe her looks are what attracted me to the videos initially, but her explanations is what keep me coming back. I mean, you can only ogle at a woman for so long, before it gets boring. Plus I have my own Japanese beauty to ogle at. LOL
yeah,sometimes 🙂
there are so many onomatopoeia words in the japanese language unlike english
i wanna marry chikido ;_;
@BloodTribute I am sure we have a different currency
@Zer0Zer00ne thats what i was thinking…
The first time I came across the word onomatopoeia was through the Vsauce video about "bum(s)" in the English language. I would highly recommend that channel, should anyone be interested in learning virtually everything cool about the universe 😀
Your all wrong she’s mine!

Hi I really enjoy the channel, and REALLY appreciate the daily lessons (wow!!) but I was wondering if possible could we get a male host a few times? I have been listening to the podcast and I understand there are segments on there but with the videos on here I am just a little worried of sounding like a female when I say the words. I have been listening to JapanesePod101 for at least 3 years now and again thanks, It has been wonderful watching the product change and get better and better 🙂
Oh yeah, I ‘kachikachi’ my ‘pen’ sometimes ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Why is it that Japanese Pod is so different from the other pods I follow?
I like them both and I wish this one had they styles similar to the other pod in addition to having these quick demonstrations.
