Lie-Nielsen 60 1/2 Rabbet Block Plane – Small Workshop Guy's Favorite Tool

Lie-Nielsen 60 1/2 Rabbet Block Plane – Small Workshop Guy's Favorite Tool

When it comes to a handy, versatile tool for shaving end grain and tenons, the Lie-Describe Nielsen 60 1/2 Rabbet Block Plane is a great little tool. It is definitely one of my favorite tools. It does NOT have an adjustable mouth in spite of my misspeak in the video

Samurai Carpenter seems to like it as well – see his video here:

Over there we have a woodworking blog, tool store, links to videos, and plans. Some of our Plans that you buy are supported by Step-by-Step Tutorial Videos. That is true for our PopUp Workbench Plans and for our Sawstallions Plans.

I am no longer using Patreon in spite of any statement to the contrary you might see in a video uploaded before October, 2020.

2 Ways to Buy the Plans for the PopUp Workbench, the Sawstallions or any other plans we have developed (mostly various shop cabinets). Most are supported by numerous step-by-step how to build tutorial videos
1. Go our Website and click on the Menu item “Woodworking Plans”
2. Go straight to our Etsy Store:

Very nice I have a older one. It was in bad shape when I got it for $2.00 so I don’t know the brand name it. I was able to restore it and it is one my favorite tools also. Thank you for sharing friend.

According to Lie-Nielson website (under the use tab), the mouth is fixed, but you said it is adjustable in the video. Can you confirm?

Good taste. I have the same. Mine is the older version without the nicker or scoring wheel on the side but it is almost always on the bench and used on every project. Great reviews. Keep them coming!

The one you’re using in the video is the rabbet block plane (as the title suggests), and it DOESN’T have an adjustable mouth.
